Hosea 1

1 Hosea, to shew God's judgment for spiritual whoredom, taketh Gomer, 4 and hath by her Jezreel, 6 Lo-ruhamah, 8 and Lo-ammi. 10 The restoration of Judah and Israel.

 1:1 ¶ The word 1697 of the LORD 3068 that x834 came x1961 vnto x413 Hosea, 1954 the sonne 1121 of Beeri, 882 in the dayes 3117 of Uzziah, 5818 Iotham, 3147 Ahaz, 271 [and] Hezekiah 3169 kings 4428 of Iudah, 3063 and in the dayes 3117 of Ieroboam 3379 the sonne 1121 of Ioash 3101 king 4428 of Israel. 3478

 1:2 The beginning 8462 of the word 1696 z8763 of the LORD 3068 by Hosea: 1954 and the LORD 3068 sayd 559 z8799 to x413 Hosea, 1954 Goe, y3212 z8798 x1980 take 3947 z8798 vnto thee a wife 802 of whoredomes, 2183 and children 3206 of whoredomes: 2183 for x3588 the land 776 hath committed great y2181 z8800 whoredome, 2181 z8799 [departing] from 310 x4480 the LORD. 3068

 1:3 So he went y3212 z8799 x1980 and tooke 3947 z8799 x853 Gomer 1586 the daughter 1323 of Diblaim, 1691 which conceiued 2029 z8799 and bare 3205 z8799 him a sonne. 1121

 1:4 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 him, Call 7121 z8798 his name 8034 Iezreel; 3157 for x3588 yet x5750 a little 4592 [while], and I will auenge 6485 z8804 x853 the blood 1818 of Iezreel 3157 vpon x5921 the house 1004 of Iehu, 3058 and will cause to cease 7673 z8689 the kingdome 4468 of the house 1004 of Israel. 3478

 1:5 And it shall come to passe x1961 at that x1931 day, 3117 that I will breake 7665 z8804 x853 the bow 7198 of Israel 3478 in the valley 6010 of Iezreel. 3157

 1:6 ¶ And shee conceiued x2029 againe y2029 z8799 x5750 and bare 3205 z8799 a daughter, 1323 and [God] sayd 559 z8799 vnto him, Call 7121 z8798 her name 8034 Lo-ruhamah: 3819 z8795 for x3588 I will no x3808 more 3254 z8686 x5750 haue mercy y7355 z8762 vpon x7355 x853 the house 1004 of Israel: 3478 but x3588 I will vtterly y5375 z8800 take them away. 5375 z8799

 1:7 But I will haue mercy y7355 z8762 vpon x7355 the house 1004 of Iudah, 3063 and will saue 3467 z8689 them by the LORD 3068 their God, 430 and will not x3808 saue 3467 z8686 them by vow, 7198 nor by sword, 2719 nor by battell, 4421 by horses 5483 nor by horsemen. 6571

 1:8 ¶ Now when shee had weaned 1580 z8799 x853 Lo-ruhamah, 3819 z8795 she couceiued 2029 z8799 and bare 3205 z8799 a sonne. 1121

 1:9 Then sayde 559 z8799 [God], Call 7121 z8798 his name 8034 Lo-ammi: 3818 for x3588 yee x859 [are] not x3808 my people, 5971 and I x595 will not x3808 be x1961 your [God].

 1:10 ¶ Yet the number 4557 of the children 1121 of Israel 3478 shall be x1961 as the sand 2344 of the sea, 3220 which x834 cannot x3808 bee measured 4058 z8735 nor x3808 numbred, 5608 z8735 and it shall come to passe, x1961 [that] in the place 4725 where x834 it was said 559 z8735 vnto them, Yee x859 [are] not x3808 my people, 5971 there it shall be said 559 z8735 vnto them, [Ye are] the sonnes 1121 of the liuing 2416 God. 410

 1:11 Then shall the children 1121 of Iudah 3063 and the children 1121 of Israel 3478 be gathered y6908 z8738 together, 3162 x6908 and appoint 7760 z8804 themselues one 259 head, 7218 and they shall come vp 5927 z8804 out of x4480 the land: 776 for x3588 great 1419 [shalbe] the day 3117 of Iezreel. 3157
