Iudges 19

1 A Levite goeth to Beth-lehem to fetch home his wife. 16 An old man entertaineth him at Gibeah. 22 The Benjamites abuse his concubine to death. 29 He divideth her into twelve pieces, to send them to the twelve tribes.

 19:1 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 in those x1992 dayes, 3117 when there [was] no x369 King 4428 in Israel, 3478 that there was x1961 a certaine 376 Leuite 3881 soiourning 1481 z8802 on the side 3411 of mount 2022 Ephraim, 669 who tooke 3947 z8799 to him a concubine 802 6370 out of Bethlehem Iudah. 1035 3063 x4480

 19:2 And his concubine 6370 played the whore 2181 z8799 against x5921 him, and went away y3212 z8799 x1980 from x4480 x854 him vnto x413 her fathers 1 house 1004 to x413 Bethlehem Iudah, 1035 3063 and was x1961 there x8033 foure 702 whole x3117 moneths. 2320 y3117

 19:3 And her husband 376 arose, 6965 z8799 and went y3212 z8799 x1980 after 310 her to speake 1696 z8763 friendly 3820 x5921 vnto her, and to bring her againe, 7725 z8687 hauing his seruant 5288 with x5973 him, and a couple 6776 of asses: 2543 and shee brought 935 z8686 him into her fathers 1 house, 1004 and when the father 1 of the damsell 5291 saw 7200 z8799 him, he reioyced 8055 z8799 to meet 7125 z8800 him.

 19:4 And his father in law, 2859 z8802 the damosels 5291 father, 1 reteined 2388 z8686 him, and hee abode 3427 z8799 with x854 him three 7969 dayes: 3117 so they did eate 398 z8799 and drinke, 8354 z8799 and lodged 3885 z8799 there. x8033

 19:5 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 on the fourth 7243 day, 3117 when they arose earely 7925 z8686 in the morning, 1242 that he rose vp 6965 z8799 to depart: y3212 z8800 x1980 and the damosels 5291 father 1 saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 his sonne in lawe, 2860 Comfort 5582 z8798 thine heart 3820 with a morsell 6595 of bread, 3899 and afterward 310 goe your way. y3212 z8799 x1980

 19:6 And they sate downe, 3427 z8799 and did eat 398 z8799 and drinke 8354 z8799 both 8147 of them together: 3162 for the damosels 5291 father 1 had saide 559 z8799 vnto x413 the man, 376 Be content, 2974 z8685 I pray thee, x4994 and tary all night, 3885 z8798 and let thine heart 3820 be merrie. 3190 z8799

 19:7 And when the man 376 rose vp 6965 z8799 to depart, y3212 z8800 x1980 his father in law 2859 z8802 vrged 6484 z8799 him: therfore he lodged 3885 z8799 there x8033 againe. 7725 z8799

 19:8 And hee arose early 7925 z8686 in the morning 1242 on the fift 2549 day 3117 to depart, y3212 z8800 x1980 and the damosels 5291 father 1 sayd, 559 z8799 Comfort 5582 z8798 thine heart, 3824 I pray thee. x4994 And they taried 4102 z8701 vntill x5704 after noone, 3117 5186 z8800 and they did eate 398 z8799 both 8147 of them.

 19:9 And when the man 376 rose vp 6965 z8799 to depart, y3212 z8800 x1980 hee x1931 and his concubine, 6370 and his seruant; 5288 his father in law, 2859 z8802 the damsels 5291 father, 1 said 559 z8799 vnto him, Behold, x2009 now x4994 the day 3117 draweth 7503 z8804 towardes euening, 6150 z8800 I pray you x4994 tarie all night: 3885 z8798 behold, x2009 the day 3117 groweth to an ende, 2583 z8800 lodge 3885 z8798 heere, x6311 that thine heart 3824 may be merrie; 3190 z8799 and to morrow 4279 get you early 7925 z8689 on your way, 1870 that thou mayest goe 1980 z8804 home. 168

 19:10 But the man 376 would 14 z8804 not x3808 tary that night, 3885 z8800 but he rose vp 6965 z8799 and departed, y3212 z8799 x1980 and came 935 z8799 ouer against 5227 x5704 Iebus 2982 (which x1931 is Ierusalem:) 3389 and [there were] with x5973 him two 6776 asses 2543 sadled, 2280 z8803 his concubine 6370 also [was] with x5973 him.

 19:11 And when they x1992 [were] by x5973 Iebus, 2982 the day 3117 was farre 3966 spent, 7286 z8804 and the seruant 5288 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 his master, 113 Come, y3212 z8798 x1980 I pray thee, x4994 and let vs turne in 5493 z8799 into x413 this x2063 citie 5892 of the Iebusites, 2983 and lodge 3885 z8799 in it.

 19:12 And his master 113 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 him, We will not x3808 turne aside 5493 z8799 hither into x413 the citie 5892 of a stranger, 5237 that x834 is not x3808 of the children 1121 x4480 of Israel, 3478 we will passe ouer 5674 z8804 to x5704 Gibeah. 1390

 19:13 And hee sayde 559 z8799 vnto his seruant, 5288 Come, y3212 z8798 x1980 and let vs draw neere 7126 z8799 to one 259 of these places 4725 to lodge all night, 3885 z8804 in Gibeah, 1390 or x176 in Ramah. 7414

 19:14 And they passed on 5674 z8799 and went their way, y3212 z8799 x1980 and the sunne 8121 went downe 935 z8799 vpon them [when they were] by 681 Gibeah, 1390 which x834 [belongeth] to Beniamin. 1144

 19:15 And they turned aside 5493 z8799 thither, x8033 to go in 935 z8800 [and] to lodge 3885 z8800 in Gibeah: 1390 and when he went in, 935 z8799 he sate him downe 3427 z8799 in a street 7339 of the citie: 5892 for there was no x369 man 376 that tooke 622 z8764 them into his house 1004 to lodging. 3885 z8800

 19:16 ¶ And behold, x2009 there came 935 z8804 an olde 2205 man 376 from x4480 his worke 4639 out of x4480 the field 7704 at euen, 6153 which x3676 was also y376 of mount 2022 x4480 Ephraim; 669 and hee x1931 soiourned 1481 z8804 in Gibeah, 1390 but the men y582 x376 of the place 4725 were Beniamites. 1145

 19:17 And when he had lift vp 5375 z8799 his eyes, 5869 he saw 7200 z8799 x853 a wayfaring 732 z8802 man 376 in the streete 7339 of the citie: 5892 and the old 2205 man 376 said, 559 z8799 Whither x4480 x575 goest y3212 z8799 x1980 thou? And whence 370 x4480 commest 935 z8799 thou?

 19:18 And he said 559 z8799 vnto x413 him, We x587 are passing 5674 z8802 from Bethlehem Iudah, 1035 3063 x4480 toward x5704 the side 3411 of mount 2022 Ephraim, 669 from thence x4480 x8033 am I: x595 and I went y3212 z8799 x1980 to x5704 Bethlehem Iudah, 1035 3063 but I x589 am [now] going 1980 z8802 to the house 1004 of the LORD, 3068 and there is no x369 man 376 that receiueth 622 z8764 me to house. 1004

 19:19 Yet there is 3426 both x1571 straw 8401 and x1571 prouender 4554 for our asses, 2543 and there is x3426 bread 3899 and wine 3196 also x1571 for me and for thy handmaid, 519 and for the young man 5288 [which is] with x5973 thy seruants: 5650 there is no x369 want 4270 of any x3605 thing. 1697

 19:20 And the olde 2205 man 376 said, 559 z8799 Peace 7965 be with thee; howsoeuer, 7535 let all x3605 thy wants 4270 [lie] vpon x5921 me; only x7535 lodge 3885 z8799 not x408 in the street. 7339

 19:21 So he brought 935 z8686 him into his house, 1004 and gaue prouender 1101 z8799 vnto the asses: 2543 and they washed 7364 z8799 their feet, 7272 and did eate 398 z8799 and drinke. 8354 z8799

 19:22 ¶ Now as they x1992 were making their hearts y3820 merrie, 3190 z8688 x853 x3820 behold, x2009 the men y582 x376 of the citie, 5892 certaine y582 x376 sonnes 1121 of Belial, 1100 beset y5437 z0 the house y1004 round about, 5437 z8738 x853 x1004 [and] beat 1849 z8693 at x5921 the doore, 1817 and spake 559 z8799 to x413 the master 1167 of the house, 1004 the olde y2205 man, y376 x2205 saying; 559 z8800 Bring foorth 3318 z8685 x853 the man 376 that x834 came 935 z8804 into x413 thine house, 1004 that we may know 3045 z8799 him.

 19:23 And the man, 376 the master 1167 of the house, 1004 went out 3318 z8799 vnto x413 them, and said 559 z8799 vnto x413 them, Nay 408 my brethren, 251 nay, I pray you x4994 doe not so wickedly; 7489 z8686 x408 seeing y310 that x310 x834 this x2088 man 376 is come 935 z8804 into x413 mine house, 1004 doe 6213 z8799 not x408 x853 this x2063 folly. 5039

 19:24 Behold, x2009 [here is] my daughter, 1323 a maiden, 1330 and his concubine, 6370 them I wil bring out 3318 z8686 now, x4994 and humble 6031 z8761 yee them, and doe 6213 z8798 with them what seemeth 5869 good 2896 vnto you: but vnto this x2088 man 376 doe 6213 z8799 not x3808 so 2063 vile 5039 a thing. 1697

 19:25 But the men y582 x376 would 14 z8804 not x3808 hearken 8085 z8800 to him: so the man 376 tooke 2388 z8686 his concubine, 6370 and brought y3318 z8686 her foorth 2351 x3318 vnto x413 them, and they knew 3045 z8799 her, and abused 5953 z8691 her all x3605 the night 3915 vntil x5704 the morning: 1242 and when the day 7837 began to spring, 5927 z8800 they let her goe. 7971 z8762

 19:26 Then came 935 z8799 the woman 802 in the dawning 6437 z8800 of the day, 1242 and fell downe 5307 z8799 at the doore 6607 of the mans 376 house, 1004 where x834 x8033 her lord 113 was, till x5704 it was light. 216

 19:27 And her lord 113 rose vp 6965 z8799 in the morning, 1242 & opened 6605 z8799 the doores 1817 of the house, 1004 and went out 3318 z8799 to goe y3212 z8800 x1980 his way: 1870 and behold, x2009 the woman 802 his concubine 6370 was fallen downe 5307 z8802 at the doore 6607 of the house, 1004 and her hands 3027 [were] vpon x5921 the threshold. 5592

 19:28 And he said 559 z8799 vnto x413 her, Up, 6965 z8798 and let vs be going. y3212 z8799 x1980 But none x369 answered: 6030 z8802 then the man y376 tooke 3947 z8799 her [vp] vpon x5921 an asse, 2543 and the man 376 rose vp, 6965 z8799 and gate y3212 z8799 x1980 him vnto his place. 4725

 19:29 ¶ And when he was come 935 z8799 into x413 his house, 1004 hee tooke 3947 z8799 x853 a knife, 3979 and layd hold 2388 z8686 on his concubine, 6370 and diuided 5408 z8762 her, [together] with her bones, 6106 into twelue 8147 6240 pieces, 5409 and sent 7971 z8762 her into all x3605 the coasts 1366 of Israel. 3478

 19:30 And it was x1961 so y1961 z8738 that all x3605 that saw 7200 z8802 it, said, 559 z8804 There was no x3808 such x2063 deed y2063 done x1961 nor x3808 seene, 7200 z8738 from the day 3117 x4480 that the children 1121 of Israel 3478 came vp 5927 z8800 out of the land 776 x4480 of Egypt, 4714 vnto x5704 this x2088 day: 3117 consider 7760 z8798 of x5921 it, take aduise, 5779 z8798 and speake 1696 z8761 [your mindes].
