Iudges 15

1 Samson is denied his wife. 3 He burneth the Philistines' corn with foxes and firebrands. 6 His wife and her father are burnt by the Philistines. 7 Samson smiteth them hip and thigh. 9 He is bound by the men of Judah and delivered to the Philistines. 14 He killeth them with a jawbone. 18 God maketh the fountain En-hakkore for him in Lehi.

 15:1 ¶ But it came to passe x1961 within a while x4480 x3117 after, y3117 in the time 3117 of wheat 2406 haruest, 7105 that Samson 8123 visited 6485 z8799 x853 his wife 802 with a kid, 1423 5795 and he said, 559 z8799 I will goe in 935 z8799 to x413 my wife 802 into the chamber. 2315 But her father 1 would not x3808 suffer 5414 z8804 him to goe in. 935 z8800

 15:2 And her father 1 saide, 559 z8799 I verily y559 z8800 thought 559 z8804 that x3588 thou haddest vtterly y8130 z8800 hated 8130 z8804 her, therfore I gaue 5414 z8799 her to thy companion: 4828 is not x3808 her younger 6996 sister 269 fairer 2896 then x4480 she? take x1961 her, I pray thee, x4994 in stead x8478 of her.

 15:3 ¶ And Samson 8123 said 559 z8799 concerning them, Now 6471 shal I be more blamelesse 5352 z8738 then the Philistines, 6430 x4480 though x3588 I x589 do 6213 z8802 x5973 them a displeasure. 7451

 15:4 And Samson 8123 went y3212 z8799 x1980 and caught 3920 z8799 three 7969 hundred 3967 foxes, 7776 and tooke 3947 z8799 firebrands, 3940 and turned 6437 z8686 taile 2180 to x413 taile, 2180 and put 7760 z8799 a 259 firebrand 3940 in the midst 8432 betweene x996 two 8147 tailes. 2180

 15:5 And when hee had set 1197 z8686 the brands 3940 on fire, 784 he let them goe 7971 z8762 into the standing corne 7054 of the Philistines, 6430 and burnt vp 1197 z8686 both the shockes, 1430 x4480 and also x5704 the standing corne, 7054 with x5704 the vineyards 3754 [and] oliues. 2132

 15:6 ¶ Then the Philistines 6430 saide, 559 z8799 Who x4310 hath done 6213 z8804 this? x2063 and they answered, 559 z8799 Samson 8123 the sonne in law 2860 of the Timnite, 8554 because x3588 hee had taken 3947 z8804 x853 his wife, 802 and giuen 5414 z8799 her to his companion. 4828 And the Philistines 6430 came vp, 5927 z8799 and burnt 8313 z8799 her and her father 1 with fire. 784

 15:7 ¶ And Samson 8123 said 559 z8799 vnto them, Though 518 ye haue done 6213 z8799 this, 2063 yet x3588 x518 will I be auenged 5358 z8738 of you, and after y310 that, x310 I wil cease. 2308 z8799

 15:8 And he smote 5221 z8686 them hip 7785 and 5921 thigh, 3409 with a great 1419 slaughter; 4347 and hee went down 3381 z8799 and dwelt 3427 z8799 in the top 5585 of the rocke 5553 Etam. 5862

 15:9 ¶ Then the Philistines 6430 went vp, 5927 z8799 and pitched 2583 z8799 in Iudah, 3063 and spread y5203 z8735 themselues x5203 in Lehi. 3896

 15:10 And the men 376 of Iudah 3063 said, 559 z8799 Why x4100 are ye come vp 5927 z8804 against x5921 vs? and they answered, 559 z8799 To bind 631 z8800 x853 Samson 8123 are we come vp, 5927 z8804 to doe 6213 z8800 to him, as x834 he hath done 6213 z8804 to vs.

 15:11 Then three 7969 thousand 505 men 376 of Iudah 3063 x4480 went 3381 z8799 to x413 the top 5585 of the rocke 5553 Etam, 5862 and sayd 559 z8799 to Samson; 8123 Knowest 3045 z8804 thou not x3808 that x3588 the Philistines 6430 are rulers 4910 z8802 ouer vs? What x4100 [is] this x2063 [that] thou hast done 6213 z8804 vnto vs? And he said 559 z8799 vnto them, As x834 they did 6213 z8804 vnto me, so x3651 haue I done 6213 z8804 vnto them.

 15:12 And they said 559 z8799 vnto him, Wee are come downe 3381 z8804 to binde 631 z8800 thee, that we may deliuer 5414 z8800 thee into the hand 3027 of the Philistines. 6430 And Samson 8123 said 559 z8799 vnto them, Sweare 7650 z8734 vnto me, that x6435 yee will not fall x6293 vpon y6293 z8799 me your selues. x859

 15:13 And they spake 559 z8799 vnto him, saying; 559 z8800 No: x3808 but x3588 wee will binde y631 z8799 thee fast, 631 z8800 and deliuer 5414 z8804 thee into their hand: 3027 but surely y4191 z8687 we will not kill 4191 z8686 x3808 thee. And they bound 631 z8799 him with two 8147 new 2319 cordes, 5688 and brought him vp 5927 z8686 from x4480 the rocke. 5553

 15:14 ¶ And when he x1931 came 935 z8804 vnto x5704 Lehi, 3896 the Philistines 6430 shouted 7321 z8689 against 7125 z8800 him: and the Spirit 7307 of the LORD 3068 came mightily 6743 z8799 vpon x5921 him, and the cordes 5688 that x834 were vpon x5921 his armes 2220 became x1961 as flaxe 6593 that x834 was burnt 1197 z8804 with fire, 784 & his bands 612 loosed 4549 z8735 from off x4480 x5921 his hands. 3027

 15:15 And he found 4672 z8799 a new 2961 iawbone 3895 of an asse, 2543 and put foorth 7971 z8799 his hand, 3027 and tooke 3947 z8799 it, and slewe 5221 z8686 a thousand 505 men 376 therewith.

 15:16 And Samson 8123 said, 559 z8799 With the iawbone 3895 of an asse, 2543 heapes y2565 vpon heapes, 2565 with the iaw 3895 of an asse 2543 haue I slaine 5221 z8689 a thousand 505 men. 376

 15:17 And it came to passe x1961 when he had made an end 3615 z8763 of speaking, 1696 z8763 that hee cast away 7993 z8686 the iaw bone 3895 out of his hand, 3027 x4480 and called 7121 z8799 that x1931 place 4725 Ramath-Lehi. 7437

 15:18 ¶ And hee was sore y3966 athirst, 6770 z8799 x3966 and called 7121 z8799 on x413 the LORD, 3068 and said, 559 z8799 Thou x859 hast giuen 5414 z8804 x853 this x2063 great 1419 deliuerance 8668 into the hand 3027 of thy seruant: 5650 and now x6258 shall I die 4191 z8799 for thirst, 6772 and fall 5307 z8804 into the hand 3027 of the vncircumcised? 6189

 15:19 But God 430 claue 1234 z8799 x853 an hollow place 4388 that x834 was in the iawe, 3895 and there came 3318 z8799 water 4325 thereout, x4480 & when he had drunke, 8354 z8799 his spirit 7307 came againe, 7725 z8799 and he reuiued: 2421 z8799 wherefore x5921 x3651 hee called 7121 z8802 the name 8034 thereof En-hakkore, 5875 which x834 is in Lehi, 3896 vnto x5704 this x2088 day: 3117

 15:20 And he iudged 8199 z8799 x853 Israel 3478 in the dayes 3117 of the Philistines 6430 twentie 6242 yeeres. 8141
