Iob 2

1 Satan appearing again before God obtaineth further leave to tempt Job. 7 He smiteth him with sore boils. 9 Job reproveth his wife, moving him to curse God. 11 His three friends condole with him in silence.

 2:1 ¶ Againe there was x1961 a day 3117 when the sonnes 1121 of God 430 came 935 z8799 to present y3320 z8692 themselues x3320 before x5921 the LORD, 3068 and Satan 7854 came 935 z8799 also x1571 among 8432 them to present y3320 z8692 himselfe x3320 before x5921 the LORD. 3068

 2:2 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Satan, 7854 From whence 335 x4480 x2088 commest 935 z8799 thou? And Satan 7854 answered 6030 z8799 x853 the LORD, 3068 and said, 559 z8799 From going to & fro 7751 z8800 x4480 in the earth, 776 and from walking vp and downe 1980 z8692 x4480 in it.

 2:3 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Satan, 7854 Hast thou y7760 z8804 considered 3820 x7760 x413 my seruant 5650 Iob, 347 that x3588 [there is] none x369 like him x3644 in the earth; 776 a perfect 8535 and an vpright 3477 man, 376 one that feareth 3373 God, 430 and escheweth 5493 z8802 euill? 7451 x4480 and still x5750 hee holdeth fast 2388 z8688 his integritie, 8538 although thou moouedst 5496 z8686 mee against him, to destroy 1104 z8763 him without cause. 2600

 2:4 And Satan 7854 answered 6030 z8799 x853 the LORD, 3068 and said, 559 z8799 Skinne y5785 for skinne, 5785 x1157 yea all x3605 that x834 a man 376 hath, wil he giue 5414 z8799 for x1157 his life. 5315

 2:5 But 199 put foorth 7971 z8798 thine hand 3027 now, x4994 and touch 5060 z8798 x413 his bone 6106 and his flesh, 1320 and x518 he will curse 1288 z8762 thee to x413 thy face. 6440

 2:6 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Satan, 7854 Behold, x2009 hee [is] in thine hand, 3027 but x389 saue 8104 z8798 x853 his life. 5315

 2:7 ¶ So went y3318 z0 Satan y7854 foorth 3318 z8799 x7854 from x4480 x854 the presence 6440 of the LORD, 3068 and smote 5221 z8686 x853 Iob 347 with sore 7451 biles, 7822 from the sole 3709 x4480 of his foote 7272 vnto x5704 his crowne. 6936

 2:8 And hee tooke 3947 z8799 him a potsheard 2789 to scrape y1623 z8692 himselfe x1623 withall; and hee x1931 sate downe 3427 z8802 among 8432 the ashes. 665

 2:9 ¶ Then saide 559 z8799 his wife 802 vnto him, Doest thou still x5750 reteine 2388 z8688 thine integritie? 8538 Curse 1288 z8761 God, 430 and die. 4191 z8798

 2:10 But he said 559 z8799 vnto x413 her, Thou speakest 1696 z8762 as one 259 of the foolish women 5036 speaketh; 1696 z8763 what? 1571 shall wee receiue 6901 z8762 x853 good 2896 at the hand x4480 x854 of God, 430 and shall wee not x3808 receiue 6901 z8762 euill? 7451 In all x3605 this x2063 did not x3808 Iob 347 sinne 2398 z8804 with his lippes. 8193

 2:11 ¶ Now when Iobs 347 three 7969 friends 7453 heard 8085 z8799 x853 of all x3605 this x2063 euill, 7451 that was come 935 z8802 vpon x5921 him, they came 935 z8799 euery one 376 from his owne place: 4725 x4480 Eliphaz 464 the Temanite, 8489 and Bildad 1085 the Shuhite, 7747 and Zophar 6691 the Naamathite; 5284 for they had made an appointment 3259 z8735 together 3162 to come 935 z8800 to mourne 5110 z8800 with him, and to comfort 5162 z8763 him.

 2:12 And when they lift vp 5375 z8799 x853 their eyes 5869 afarre off, 7350 x4480 and knew 5234 z8689 him not, x3808 they lifted vp 5375 z8799 their voice, 6963 and wept; 1058 z8799 and they rent 7167 z8799 euery one 376 his mantle, 4598 and sprinckled 2236 z8799 dust 6083 vpon x5921 their heades 7218 toward heauen. 8064

 2:13 So they sate downe 3427 z8799 with x854 him vpon the ground 776 seuen 7651 dayes, 3117 and seuen 7651 nights, 3915 and none x369 spake 1696 z8802 a word 1697 vnto x413 him; for x3588 they saw 7200 z8804 that x3588 [his] griefe 3511 was very y3966 great. 1431 z8804 x3966
