Iob 1

1 The holiness, riches, and religious care of Job for his children. 6 Satan, appearing before God, by calumniation obtaineth leave to tempt Job. 13 Understanding of the loss of his goods and children, in his mourning he blesseth God.

 1:1 ¶ There was x1961 a man 376 in the land 776 of Uz, 5780 whose name 8034 [was] Iob, 347 and that x1931 man 376 was x1961 perfect 8535 and vpright, 3477 and one that feared 3373 God, 430 and eschewed 5493 z8802 euill. 7451 x4480

 1:2 And there were borne 3205 z8735 vnto him seuen 7651 sonnes, 1121 and three 7969 daughters. 1323

 1:3 His substance 4735 also was x1961 seuen 7651 thousand 505 sheepe, 6629 and three 7969 thousand 505 camels, 1581 and fiue 2568 hundred 3967 yoke 6776 of oxen, 1241 and fiue 2568 hundred 3967 shee asses, 860 and a very 3966 great 7227 houshold; 5657 so that this x1931 man 376 was x1961 the greatest 1419 of all x4480 x3605 the men 1121 of the East. 6924

 1:4 And his sonnes 1121 went 1980 z8804 and feasted 4960 6213 z8804 in [their] houses, 1004 euery one 376 his day, 3117 and sent 7971 z8804 and called 7121 z8804 for their three 7969 sisters, 269 to eate 398 z8800 and to drinke 8354 z8800 with x5973 them.

 1:5 And it was x1961 so, when x3588 the dayes 3117 of [their] feasting 4960 were gone about, 5362 z8689 that Iob 347 sent 7971 z8799 and sanctified 6942 z8762 them, and rose vp early 7925 z8689 in the morning, 1242 and offered 5927 z8689 burnt offerings 5930 [according] to the number 4557 of them all: x3605 For x3588 Iob 347 said, 559 z8804 It may be 194 that my sonnes 1121 haue sinned, 2398 z8804 and cursed 1288 z8765 God 430 in their hearts: 3824 Thus x3602 did 6213 z8799 Iob 347 continually. 3117 x3605

 1:6 ¶ Now there was x1961 a day, 3117 when the sons 1121 of God 430 came 935 z8799 to present y3320 z8692 themselues x3320 before x5921 the LORD, 3068 and Satan 7854 came 935 z8799 also x1571 among 8432 them.

 1:7 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Satan, 7854 Whence 370 x4480 commest 935 z8799 thou? Then Satan 7854 answered 6030 z8799 x853 the LORD, 3068 and sayde, 559 z8799 From going to and fro 7751 z8800 x4480 in the earth, 776 and from walking vp and downe 1980 z8692 x4480 in it.

 1:8 And the LORD 3068 sayd 559 z8799 vnto x413 Satan, 7854 Hast thou considered 7760 3820 z8804 x5921 my seruant 5650 Iob, 347 that x3588 [there is] none x369 like him x3644 in the earth? 776 A perfect 8535 and an vpright 3477 man, 376 one that feareth 3373 God, 430 and escheweth 5493 z8802 euill? 7451 x4480

 1:9 Then Satan 7854 answered 6030 z8799 x853 ye LORD, 3068 and sayd, 559 z8799 Doeth Iob 347 feare 3372 z8804 God 430 for nought? 2600

 1:10 Hast not x3808 thou x859 made an hedge 7753 z8804 about x1157 him, and about 1157 his house, 1004 and about x1157 all x3605 that x834 he hath on euery side? 5439 x4480 Thou hast blessed 1288 z8765 the worke 4639 of his hands, 3027 and his substance 4735 is increased 6555 z8804 in the land. 776

 1:11 But 199 put foorth 7971 z8798 thine hand 3027 now, x4994 and touch 5060 z8798 all x3605 that x834 he hath, and x518 he will curse 1288 z8762 y3808 thee to x5921 thy face. 6440

 1:12 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Satan, 7854 Behold, x2009 all x3605 that x834 hee hath is in thy power, 3027 onely x7535 vpon x413 himselfe put not foorth 7971 z8799 x408 thine hand. 3027 So Satan 7854 went forth 3318 z8799 from x4480 x5973 the presence 6440 of the LORD. 3068

 1:13 ¶ And there was x1961 a day, 3117 when his sonnes 1121 and his daughters 1323 were eating 398 z8802 and drinking 8354 z8802 wine 3196 in their eldest 1060 brothers 251 house: 1004

 1:14 And there came 935 z8804 a messenger 4397 vnto x413 Iob, 347 and said, 559 z8799 The oxen 1241 were x1961 plowing, 2790 z8802 and the asses 860 feeding 7462 z8802 beside 3027 x5921 them,

 1:15 And the Sabeans 7614 fell 5307 z8799 [vpon them], and tooke them away: 3947 z8799 yea they haue slaine 5221 z8689 the seruants 5288 with the edge 6310 of the sword, 2719 and I x589 onely x7535 am escaped 4422 z8735 alone, x905 to tell 5046 z8687 thee.

 1:16 While he x2088 was yet x5750 speaking, 1696 z8764 there came 935 z8802 also another, x2088 and said, 559 z8799 The fire 784 of God 430 is fallen 5307 z8804 from x4480 heauen, 8064 and hath burnt vp 1197 z8799 the sheepe, 6629 and the seruants, 5288 and consumed 398 z8799 them, and I x589 onely x7535 am escaped 4422 z8735 alone, x905 to tell 5046 z8687 thee.

 1:17 While he x2088 was yet x5750 speaking, 1696 z8764 there came 935 z8802 also another, x2088 and said, 559 z8799 The Caldeans 3778 made x7760 out y7760 z8804 three 7969 bands, 7218 and fell 6584 z8799 vpon x5921 the camels, 1581 and haue caried them away, 3947 z8799 yea, and slaine 5221 z8689 the seruants 5288 with the edge 6310 of the sword, 2719 and I x589 onely x7535 am escaped 4422 z8735 alone, x905 to tell 5046 z8687 thee.

 1:18 While he x2088 was yet x5750 speaking, 1696 z8764 there came 935 z8802 also another, x2088 & said, 559 z8799 Thy sonnes, 1121 and thy daughters, 1323 were eating 398 z8802 and drinking 8354 z8802 wine 3196 in their eldest 1060 brothers 251 house. 1004

 1:19 And beholde, x2009 there came 935 z8804 a great 1419 winde 7307 from 5676 x4480 the wildernes, 4057 and smote 5060 z8799 the foure 702 corners 6438 of the house, 1004 and it fell 5307 z8799 vpon x5921 the yong men, 5288 and they are dead, 4191 z8799 and I x589 onely x7535 am escaped 4422 z8735 alone x905 to tell 5046 z8687 thee.

 1:20 Then Iob 347 arose, 6965 z8799 and rent 7167 z8799 x853 his mantle, 4598 and shaued 1494 z8799 x853 his head, 7218 and fell downe 5307 z8799 vpon the ground 776 and worshipped, 7812 z8691

 1:21 And said, 559 z8799 Naked 6174 came I out 3318 z8804 of my mothers y517 wombe, 990 x4480 x517 and naked 6174 shall I returne 7725 z8799 thither: x8033 the LORD 3068 gaue, 5414 z8804 and the LORD 3068 hath taken away, 3947 z8804 blessed 1288 z8794 be x1961 the Name 8034 of the LORD. 3068

 1:22 In all x3605 this x2063 Iob 347 sinned 2398 z8804 not, x3808 nor x3808 charged 5414 z8804 God 430 foolishly. 8604
