Exodus 17

1 The people murmur for water at Rephidim. 5 God sendeth them for water to the rock in Horeb. 8 Amalek is overcome by the holding up of Moses' hands. 15 Moses buildeth the altar JEHOVAH-nissi.

 17:1 ¶ And all x3605 the Congregation 5712 of the children 1121 of Israel 3478 iourneyed 5265 z8799 from the wildernesse 4057 x4480 of Sin 5512 after their iourneys, 4550 according to x5921 the commandement 6310 of the LORD, 3068 and pitched 2583 z8799 in Rephidim: 7508 and [there was] no x369 water 4325 for the people 5971 to drinke. 8354 z8800

 17:2 Wherefore the people 5971 did chide 7378 z8799 with x5973 Moses 4872 and said, 559 z8799 Giue 5414 z8798 vs water 4325 that wee may drinke. 8354 z8799 And Moses 4872 said 559 z8799 vnto them, Why x4100 chide 7378 z8799 you with x5978 mee? Wherefore x4100 doe ye tempt 5254 z8762 x853 the LORD? 3068

 17:3 And the people 5971 thirsted 6770 z8799 there x8033 for water, 4325 and the people 5971 murmured 3885 z8686 against x5921 Moses, 4872 and said, 559 z8799 Wherefore x4100 is this x2088 that thou hast brought y5927 z8689 vs vp x5927 out of Egypt, 4714 x4480 to kill 4191 z8687 vs and our children, 1121 and our cattell 4735 with thirst? 6772

 17:4 And Moses 4872 cried 6817 z8799 vnto x413 the LORD, 3068 saying, 559 z8800 What x4100 shall I doe 6213 z8799 vnto this x2088 people? 5971 They be almost 4592 ready x5750 to stone 5619 z8804 me.

 17:5 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Moses, 4872 Goe on 5674 z8798 before 6440 the people, 5971 and take 3947 z8798 with x854 thee of the Elders 2205 x4480 of Israel: 3478 and thy rod 4294 wherewith x834 thou smotest 5221 z8689 x853 the riuer, 2975 take 3947 z8798 in thine hand, 3027 and goe. 1980 z8804

 17:6 Behold, x2009 I will stand 5975 z8802 before 6440 thee there, x8033 vpon x5921 the rocke 6697 in Horeb, 2722 and thou shalt smite 5221 z8689 the rocke, 6697 and there shall come 3318 z8804 water 4325 out of x4480 it, that the people 5971 may drinke. 8354 z8804 And Moses 4872 did 6213 z8799 so, x3651 in the sight 5869 of the Elders 2205 of Israel. 3478

 17:7 And hee called 7121 z8799 the name 8034 of the place 4725 Massah, 4532 and Meribah, 4809 because of x5921 the chiding 7379 of the children 1121 of Israel, 3478 and because x5921 they tempted 5254 z8763 x853 the LORD, 3068 saying, 559 z8800 Is 3426 the LORD 3068 amongst 7130 vs, or x518 not? x369

 17:8 ¶ Then came 935 z8799 Amalek, 6002 & fought 3898 z8735 with x5973 Israel 3478 in Rephidim. 7508

 17:9 And Moses 4872 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Ioshua, 3091 Choose vs out 977 z8798 men, y582 x376 and goe out, 3318 z8798 fight 3898 z8734 with Amalek: 6002 to morrow 4279 I x595 will stand 5324 z8737 on x5921 the top 7218 of the hill, 1389 with the rodde 4294 of God 430 in mine hand. 3027

 17:10 So Ioshua 3091 did 6213 z8799 as x834 Moses 4872 had said 559 z8804 to him, and fought 3898 z8736 with Amalek: 6002 and Moses, 4872 Aaron, 175 and Hur 2354 went vp 5927 z8804 to the top 7218 of the hill. 1389

 17:13 And Ioshua 3091 discomfited 2522 z8799 x853 Amalek, 6002 and his people, 5971 with the edge 6310 of the sword. 2719

 17:14 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Moses, 4872 Write 3789 z8798 this x2063 for a memoriall 2146 in a booke, 5612 and rehearse 7760 z8798 it in the eares 241 of Ioshua: 3091 for x3588 I will vtterly y4229 z8800 put out 4229 z8799 x853 the remembrance 2143 of Amalek 6002 from vnder x4480 x8478 heauen. 8064

 17:15 And Moses 4872 built 1129 z8799 an Altar, 4196 and called 7121 z8799 the name 8034 of it IEHOUAH Nissi. 3071

 17:16 For he said, 559 z8799 Because x3588 the Lord 3050 hath sworne 3027 3676 x5921 [that] the LORD 3068 [will haue] warre 4421 with Amalek 6002 from generation 1755 x4480 to generation. 1755
