1 By a basket of summer fruit is shewed the propinquity of Israel's end. 4 Oppression is reproved. 11 A famine of the Word threatened.

8:2 And he said, 559 z8799 Amos, 5986 what x4100 seest 7200 z8802 thou? x859 And I sayde, 559 z8799 A basket 3619 of Summer fruite. 7019 Then said 559 z8799 the LORD 3068 vnto x413 mee, The ende 7093 is come 935 z8804 vpon x413 my people 5971 of Israel; 3478 I will not x3808 againe 3254 z8686 passe y5674 z8800 by x5674 them anymore. x5750

8:3 And the songs 7892 of the Temples 1964 shalbe howlings 3213 z8689 in that x1931 day, 3117 sayth 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD: 3069 [there shall be] many 7227 dead bodies 6297 in euery x3605 place, 4725 they shall cast [them] foorth 7993 z8689 with silence. 2013 z8761

8:4 ¶ Heare 8085 z8798 this, x2063 O ye that swallow vp 7602 z8802 the needy, 34 euen to make y7673 z0 the poore 6041 z8675 y6035 of the land 776 to faile, 7673 z8687

8:5 Saying, 559 z8800 When x4970 will the newe Moone 2320 be gone, 5674 z8799 that we may sell 7666 z8686 corne? 7668 and the Sabbath, 7676 that wee may set forth 6605 z8799 wheat, 1250 making the Ephah y374 small, 6994 z8687 x374 and the shekel 8255 great, 1431 z8687 and falsifying 5791 z8763 the balances 3976 by deceit? 4820

8:6 That wee may buy 7069 z8800 the poore 1800 for siluer, 3701 & the needie 34 for x5668 a paire of shoes; 5275 yea, and sell 7666 z8686 the refuse 4651 of the wheate? 1250

8:7 The LORD 3068 hath sworne 7650 z8738 by the excellencie 1347 of Iacob, 3290 Surely x518 I will neuer 5331 forget 7911 z8799 any x3605 of their workes. 4639

8:8 Shall not x3808 the land 776 tremble 7264 z8799 for x5921 this, x2063 and euery one x3605 mourne 56 z8804 that dwelleth 3427 z8802 therein? and it shall rise vp 5927 z8804 wholly x3605 as a flood; 2975 and it shall be cast out 1644 z8738 and drowned, 8257 z8738 z8675 y8248 as by the flood y216 x2975 of Egypt. 4714

8:9 And it shall come to passe x1961 in that x1931 day, 3117 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD, 3069 that I will cause the Sunne 8121 to go downe 935 z8689 at noone, 6672 and I will darken 2821 z8689 the earth 776 in the cleare 216 day. 3117

8:10 And I will turne 2015 z8804 your feasts 2282 into mourning, 60 and all x3605 your songs 7892 into lamentation, 7015 and I will bring vp 5927 z8689 sackcloth 8242 vpon x5921 all x3605 loynes, 4975 and baldnesse 7144 vpon x5921 euery x3605 head: 7218 and I will make 7760 z8804 it as the mourning 60 of an onely 3173 [sonne], and the end 319 thereof as a bitter 4751 day. 3117

8:11 ¶ Behold, x2009 the daies 3117 come, 935 z8802 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD, 3069 that I will send 7971 z8689 a famine 7458 in the land, 776 not x3808 a famine 7458 of bread, 3899 nor x3808 a thirst 6772 for water, 4325 but x3588 x518 of hearing 8085 z8800 x853 the words 1697 of the LORD. 3068

8:12 And they shall wander 5128 z8804 from Sea 3220 x4480 to x5704 Sea, 3220 and from the North 6828 x4480 euen to x5704 the East 4217 they shall runne to and fro, 7751 z8787 to seeke 1245 z8763 x853 the worde 1697 of the LORD, 3068 and shall not x3808 finde 4672 z8799 [it].

8:13 In that x1931 day 3117 shall the faire 3303 virgines 1330 and young men 970 faint 5968 z8691 for thirst. 6772

8:14 They that sweare 7650 z8737 by the sinne 819 of Samaria, 8111 and say, 559 z8804 Thy God, 430 O Dan, 1835 liueth, 2416 and the manner 1870 of Beer-sheba 884 liueth, 2416 euen they shall fall, 5307 z8804 and neuer x3808 rise vp 6965 z8799 againe. x5750
