Amos 7

1 The judgments of the grasshoppers, 4 and of the fire, are diverted by the prayer of Amos. 7 By the wall of a plumbline is signified the rejection of Israel. 10 Amaziah complaineth of Amos. 14 Amos sheweth his calling, 16 and Amaziah's judgment.

 7:1 ¶ Thus x3541 hath the Lord 136 GOD 3069 shewed 7200 z8689 vnto me, and behold, x2009 he formed 3335 z8802 grassehoppers 1462 in the beginning 8462 of the shooting vp 5927 z8800 of the latter grouth: 3954 and loe, x2009 [it was] the latter grouth 3954 after 310 the kings 4428 mowings. 1488

 7:2 And it came to passe, x1961 [that] when x518 they had made an ende 3615 z8765 of eating 398 z8800 x853 the grasse 6212 of the land, 776 then I said; 559 z8799 O Lord 136 GOD, 3069 forgiue, 5545 z8798 I beseech thee, x4994 by whom x4310 shal Iacob 3290 arise? 6965 z8799 for x3588 he x1931 [is] small. 6996

 7:3 The LORD 3068 repented 5162 z8738 for x5921 this. x2063 It shall not x3808 be, x1961 saith 559 z8804 the LORD. 3068

 7:4 ¶ Thus x3541 hath the Lord 136 GOD 3069 shewed 7200 z8689 vnto me; and behold, x2009 the Lord 136 GOD 3069 called 7121 z8802 to contend 7378 z8800 by fire, 784 and it deuoured 398 z8799 x853 the great 7227 deepe, 8415 and did eate vp 398 z8804 x853 a part. 2506

 7:5 Then said 559 z8799 I, O Lord 136 GOD, 3069 cease, 2308 z8798 I beseech thee, x4994 by whom x4310 shal Iacob 3290 arise? 6965 z8799 for x3588 he x1931 [is] small. 6996

 7:6 The LORD 3068 repented 5162 z8738 for x5921 this. x2063 This x1931 also x1571 shall not x3808 bee, x1961 saith 559 z8804 the Lord 136 GOD. 3069

 7:7 ¶ Thus x3541 hee shewed 7200 z8689 mee, and behold, x2009 the Lord 136 stood 5324 z8737 vpon x5921 a wall 2346 [made by] a plumbline, 594 with a plumbline 594 in his hand. 3027

 7:8 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 mee, Amos, 5986 what x4100 seest 7200 z8802 thou? x859 And I sayd, 559 z8799 A plumb-line. 594 Then sayd 559 z8799 the Lord, 136 Behold, x2009 I will set 7760 z8802 a plumb-line 594 in the midst 7130 of my people 5971 Israel, 3478 I will not x3808 againe 3254 z8686 passe x5674 by y5674 z8800 them any more. x5750

 7:9 And the high places 1116 of Isaac 3446 shall be desolate, 8074 z8738 and the Sanctuaries 4720 of Israel 3478 shalbe laide waste: 2717 z8799 and I will rise 6965 z8804 against x5921 the house 1004 of Ieroboam 3379 with the sword. 2719

 7:10 ¶ Then Amaziah 558 the Priest 3548 of Beth-el 1008 sent 7971 z8799 to x413 Ieroboam 3379 king 4428 of Israel, 3478 saying; 559 z8800 Amos 5986 hath conspired 7194 z8804 against x5921 thee in the midst 7130 of the house 1004 of Israel: 3478 the land 776 is not able 3201 z8799 x3808 to beare 3557 z8687 x853 all x3605 his words. 1697

 7:11 For x3588 thus x3541 Amos 5986 saith, 559 z8804 Ieroboam 3379 shall die 4191 z8799 by the sword, 2719 and Israel 3478 shall surely y1540 z8800 be led away captiue, 1540 z8799 out of x4480 x5921 their owne land. 127

 7:12 Also Amaziah 558 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 Amos, 5986 O thou Seer, 2374 goe, y3212 z8798 x1980 flee thee away 1272 z8798 into x413 the land 776 of Iudah, 3063 and there x8033 eate 398 z8798 bread, 3899 and prophecie 5012 z8735 there. x8033

 7:13 But prophecie 5012 z8736 not x3808 againe 3254 z8686 any more x5750 at Beth-el: 1008 for x3588 it x1931 [is] the Kings 4428 Chappell, 4720 and it x1931 [is] the Kings 4467 Court. 1004

 7:14 ¶ Then answered 6030 z8799 Amos, 5986 and sayde 559 z8799 to x413 Amaziah; 558 I x595 [was] no x3808 Prophet, 5030 neither x3808 [was] I x595 a Prophets 5030 sonne, 1121 but x3588 I x595 [was] an heardman, 951 and a gatherer 1103 z8802 of Sycomore fruit. 8256

 7:15 And the LORD 3068 tooke 3947 z8799 me as I followed 310 x4480 the flocke, 6629 and the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 vnto x413 me, Goe, y3212 z8798 x1980 prophecie 5012 z8734 vnto x413 my people 5971 Israel. 3478

 7:16 ¶ Now x6258 therefore heare 8085 z8798 thou the worde 1697 of the LORD; 3068 Thou x859 sayest, 559 z8802 Prophecie 5012 z8735 not x3808 against x5921 Israel, 3478 and drop 5197 z8686 not x3808 [thy word] against x5921 the house 1004 of Isaac. 3446

 7:17 Therfore x3651 thus x3541 sayth 559 z8804 the LORD; 3068 Thy wife 802 shall be an harlot 2181 z8799 in the city, 5892 and thy sonnes 1121 and thy daughters 1323 shall fall 5307 z8799 by the sword, 2719 and thy land 127 shall be diuided 2505 z8792 by line: 2256 and thou x859 shalt die 4191 z8799 in 5921 a polluted 2931 land, 127 and Israel 3478 shall surely y1540 z8800 goe into captiuitie 1540 z8799 foorth of x4480 x5921 his land. 127
