1 A lamentation for Israel. 4 An exhortation to repentance. 21 God rejecteth their hypocritical service.

5:2 The virgin 1330 of Israel 3478 is fallen, 5307 z8804 she shall no x3808 more 3254 z8686 rise: 6965 z8800 she is forsaken 5203 z8738 vpon x5921 her land, 127 there [is] none x369 to raise her vp. 6965 z8688

5:3 For x3588 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the Lord 136 GOD, 3069 The citie 5892 that went out 3318 z8802 [by] a thousand, 505 shall leaue 7604 z8686 an hundred, 3967 and that which went foorth 3318 z8802 [by] an hundred, 3967 shall leaue 7604 z8686 ten 6235 to the house 1004 of Israel. 3478

5:4 ¶ For x3588 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 vnto the house 1004 of Israel, 3478 Seeke 1875 z8798 ye mee, and ye shall liue. 2421 z8798

5:5 But seeke 1875 z8799 not x408 Bethel, 1008 nor x3808 enter 935 z8799 into Gilgal 1537 and passe 5674 z8799 not x3808 to Beer-sheba: 884 for x3588 Gilgal 1537 shall surely y1540 z8800 goe into captiuitie, 1540 z8799 and Bethel 1008 shal come x1961 to nought. 205

5:6 Seeke 1875 z8798 x853 the LORD, 3068 and ye shall liue, 2421 z8798 lest x6435 hee breake out 6743 z8799 like fire 784 in the house 1004 of Ioseph 3130 and deuoure 398 z8804 [it], and [there be] none x369 to quench 3518 z8764 it in Bethel, 1008

5:7 Ye who turne 2015 z8802 iudgment 4941 to wormwood, 3939 and leaue off y3240 z8689 x5117 righteousnesse 6666 in the earth: 776

5:8 [Seeke him] that maketh 6213 z8802 the seuen starres 3598 and Orion, 3685 and turneth 2015 z8802 the shadow of death 6757 into the morning, 1242 and maketh the day y3117 darke 2821 z8689 x3117 with night: 3915 that calleth 7121 z8802 for the waters 4325 of the Sea, 3220 and powreth them out 8210 z8799 vpon x5921 the face 6440 of the earth: 776 the LORD 3068 [is] his Name. 8034

5:9 That strengtheneth 1082 z8688 the spoiled 7701 against x5921 the strong: y5794 x5974 so that the spoiled 7701 shall come 935 z8799 against x5921 the fortresse. 4013

5:10 They hate 8130 z8804 him that rebuketh 3198 z8688 in the gate: 8179 and they abhorre 8581 z8762 him that speaketh 1696 z8802 vprightly. 8549

5:11 Forasmuch 3282 therfore x3651 as your treading 1318 z8780 [is] vpon x5921 the poore, 1800 and ye take 3947 z8799 from x4480 him burdens 4864 of wheate, 1250 ye haue built 1129 z8804 houses 1004 of hewen stone, 1496 but ye shall not x3808 dwell 3427 z8799 in them: yee haue planted 5193 z8804 pleasant 2531 vineyards, 3754 but ye shall not x3808 drinke 8354 z8799 x853 wine 3196 of them.

5:12 For x3588 I know 3045 z8804 your manifold 7227 transgressions, 6588 and your mighty 6099 sinnes: 2403 they afflict 6887 z8802 the iust, 6662 they take 3947 z8802 a bribe, 3724 and they turne aside 5186 z8689 the poore 34 in the gate 8179 [from their right].

5:13 Therefore x3651 the prudent 7919 z8688 shall keepe silence 1826 z8799 in that x1931 time, 6256 for x3588 it x1931 [is] an euill 7451 time. 6256

5:14 Seeke 1875 z8798 good 2896 and not x408 euill, 7451 that x4616 ye may liue: 2421 z8799 and so x3651 the LORD, 3068 the God 430 of hosts 6635 shall be x1961 with x854 you, as x834 yee haue spoken. 559 z8804

5:15 Hate 8130 z8798 the euill, 7451 and loue 157 z8798 the good, 2896 and establish 3322 z8685 iudgement 4941 in the gate: 8179 it may be x194 that the LORD 3068 God 430 of hostes 6635 will bee gracious 2603 z8799 vnto the remnant 7611 of Ioseph. 3130

5:16 Therefore x3651 the LORD, 3068 the God 430 of hostes, 6635 the Lord 136 saith 559 z8804 thus: x3541 Wailing 4553 [shall be] in all x3605 streets, 7339 and they shall say 559 z8799 in all x3605 the high wayes, 2351 Alas, 1930 Alas: 1930 and they shall call 7121 z8804 the husbandman 406 to x413 mourning, 60 and such as are skilful 3045 z8802 of lamentation, 5092 to x413 wailing. 4553

5:17 And in all x3605 vineyards 3754 [shall be] wailing: 4553 [for] x3588 I will passe 5674 z8799 through 7130 thee, saith 559 z8804 the LORD. 3068

5:18 Woe 1945 vnto you that desire 183 z8693 x853 the day 3117 of the LORD: 3068 to what ende 4100 is it x2088 for you? the day 3117 of the LORD 3068 [is] darknes 2822 and not x3808 light. 216

5:19 As if x834 a man 376 did flee 5127 z8799 from 6440 x4480 a lyon, 738 and a beare 1677 met 6293 z8804 him, or went 935 z8804 into the house, 1004 and leaned 5564 z8804 his hand 3027 on x5921 the wall, 7023 and a serpent 5175 bit 5391 z8804 him.

5:20 Shall not x3808 the day 3117 of the LORD 3068 [be] darkenes, 2822 and not x3808 light? 216 euen very darke, 651 and no x3808 brightnesse 5051 in it?

5:21 ¶ I hate, 8130 z8804 I despise 3988 z8804 your feast dayes, 2282 and I will not x3808 smell 7306 z8686 in your solemne assemblies. 6116

5:22 Though x3588 x518 ye offer 5927 z8686 me burnt offerings, 5930 and your meat offerings, 4503 I will not x3808 accept 7521 z8799 [them]: neither x3808 will I regard 5027 z8686 the peace offerings 8002 of your fat beasts. 4806

5:23 Take thou away 5493 z8685 from x4480 x5921 mee the noise 1995 of thy songs: 7892 for I will not x3808 heare 8085 z8799 the melodie 2172 of thy violes. 5035

5:24 But let iudgement 4941 run downe 1556 z8735 as waters, 4325 and righteousnesse 6666 as a mightie 386 streame. 5158

5:25 Haue yee offered 5066 z8689 vnto mee sacrifices 2077 and offerings 4503 in the wildernesse 4057 fourtie 705 yeeres, 8141 O house 1004 of Israel? 3478

5:26 But yee haue borne 5375 z8804 x853 the tabernacle 5522 of your Moloch, y4428 x4432 and Chiun 3594 your images, 6754 the starre 3556 of your god, 430 which x834 ye made 6213 z8804 to your selues.

5:27 Therefore wil I cause you to go into captiuitie 1540 z8689 beyond 1973 x4480 Damascus, 1834 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 whose Name 8034 [is] the God 430 of hostes. 6635
