Amos 1

1 Amos sheweth God's judgment upon Syria, 6 upon the Philistines, 9 upon Tyrus, 11 upon Edom, 13 upon Ammon.

 1:2 And he said, 559 z8799 The LORD 3068 will roare 7580 z8799 from Zion, 6726 x4480 and vtter 5414 z8799 his voice 6963 from Ierusalem: 3389 x4480 and the habitations 4999 of the shepheards 7462 z8802 shall mourne, 56 z8804 and the top 7218 of Carmel 3760 shall wither. 3001 z8804

 1:3 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD; 3068 For x5921 three 7969 transgressions 6588 of Damascus, 1834 and for x5921 foure 702 I wil not x3808 turne away 7725 z8686 [the punishment] thereof, because x5921 they haue threshed 1758 z8800 x853 Gilead, 1568 with threshing instruments 2742 of yron. 1270

 1:4 But I will send 7971 z8765 a fire 784 into the house 1004 of Hazael, 2371 which shall deuoure 398 z8804 the palaces 759 of Benhadad. 1130

 1:5 I wil breake 7665 z8804 also the barre 1280 of Damascus, 1834 and cut off 3772 z8689 the inhabitant 3427 z8802 from the plaine 1237 x4480 of Auen: 206 and him that holdeth 8551 z8802 the scepter 7626 from the house y1004 of Eden, 1040 y5731 z8677 x4480 and the people 5971 of Syria 758 shall goe into captiuitie, 1540 z8804 vnto Kir, 7024 saith 559 z8804 the LORD. 3068

 1:6 ¶ Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 For x5921 three 7969 transgressions 6588 of Gaza, 5804 and for x5921 foure 702 I will not x3808 turne away 7725 z8686 [the punishment] thereof: because x5921 they caried away captiue 1540 z8687 the whole 8003 captiuitie, 1546 to deliuer [them] vp 5462 z8687 to Edom. 123

 1:7 But I wil send 7971 z8765 a fire 784 on the wall 2346 of Gaza, 5804 which shall deuoure 398 z8804 the palaces 759 thereof.

 1:8 And I wil cut off 3772 z8689 the inhabitant 3427 z8802 from Ashdod, 795 x4480 and him that holdeth 8551 z8802 the scepter 7626 from Ashkelon, 831 x4480 and I wil turne 7725 z8689 mine hand 3027 against x5921 Ekron; 6138 and the remnant 7611 of the Philistines 6430 shall perish, 6 z8804 saith 559 z8804 the Lord 136 GOD. 3069

 1:9 ¶ Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 For x5921 three 7969 transgressions 6588 of Tyrus, 6865 and for x5921 foure 702 I wil not x3808 turne away 7725 z8686 [the punishment] thereof, because x5921 they deliuered vp 5462 z8687 the whole 8003 captiuitie 1546 to Edom, 123 and remembred 2142 z8804 not x3808 the brotherly 251 couenant. 1285

 1:10 But I wil send 7971 z8765 a fire 784 on the wall 2346 of Tyrus, 6865 which shall deuoure 398 z8804 the palaces 759 thereof.

 1:11 ¶ Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 For x5921 three 7969 transgressions 6588 of Edom, 123 and for x5921 foure, 702 I will not x3808 turne away 7725 z8686 [the punishment] thereof, because x5921 he did pursue 7291 z8800 his brother 251 with the sword, 2719 and did cast off 7843 z8765 all pitie, 7356 and his anger 639 did teare 2963 z8799 perpetually, 5703 and kept 8104 z8804 his wrath 5678 for euer. 5331

 1:12 But I will send 7971 z8765 a fire 784 vpon Teman, 8487 which shall deuoure 398 z8804 the palaces 759 of Bozrah. 1224

 1:13 ¶ Thus x3541 sayth 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 For x5921 three 7969 transgressions 6588 of the children 1121 of Ammon, 5983 and for x5921 foure, 702 I wil not x3808 turne away 7725 z8686 [the punishment] thereof; because x5921 they haue ript vp 1234 z8800 the women with childe 2030 of Gilead, 1568 that x4616 they might enlarge 7337 z8687 x853 their border. 1366

 1:14 But I will kindle 3341 z8689 a fire 784 in the wall 2346 of Rabbah, 7237 and it shall deuoure 398 z8804 the palaces 759 thereof, with showting 8643 in the day 3117 of battell, 4421 with a tempest 5591 in the day 3117 of the whirlewinde. 5492

 1:15 And their king 4428 shall goe 1980 z8804 into captiuitie, 1473 hee, x1931 and his princes 8269 together, 3162 sayth 559 z8804 the LORD. 3068
