Proverbs 5

1 Solomon exhorteth to the study of wisdom. 3 He sheweth the mischief of whoredom and riot. 15 He exhorteth to contentedness, liberality, and charity. 22 The wicked are overtaken with their own sins.

 5:2 That thou mayest regard 8104 z8800 discretion, 4209 and [that] thy lips 8193 may keep 5341 z8799 knowledge. 1847

 5:3 ¶ For x3588 the lips 8193 of a strange woman 2114 z8801 drop 5197 z8799 [as] a honeycomb, 5317 and her mouth 2441 [is] smoother 2509 than oil: 8081 x4480

 5:4 But her end 319 is bitter 4751 as wormwood, 3939 sharp 2299 as a twoedged 6310 sword. 2719

 5:9 Lest x6435 thou give 5414 z8799 thine honor 1935 unto others, 312 and thy years 8141 unto the cruel: 394

 5:10 Lest x6435 strangers 2114 z8801 be filled 7646 z8799 with thy wealth; 3581 and thy labors 6089 [be] in the house 1004 of a stranger; 5237

 5:11 And thou mourn 5098 z8804 at the last, 319 when thy flesh 1320 and thy body 7607 are consumed, 3615 z8800

 5:12 And say, 559 z8804 How x349 have I hated 8130 z8804 instruction, 4148 and my heart 3820 despised 5006 z8804 reproof; 8433

 5:13 And have not x3808 obeyed 8085 z8804 the voice 6963 of my teachers, 3384 z8688 nor x3808 inclined 5186 z8689 mine ear 241 to them that instructed 3925 z8764 me!

 5:14 I was x1961 almost 4592 in all x3605 evil 7451 in the midst 8432 of the congregation 6951 and assembly. 5712

 5:15 ¶ Drink 8354 z8798 waters 4325 out of thine own cistern, 953 x4480 and running waters 5140 z8802 out of 8432 x4480 thine own well. 875

 5:16 Let thy fountains 4599 be dispersed 6327 z8799 abroad, 2351 [and] rivers 6388 of waters 4325 in the streets. 7339

 5:17 Let them be x1961 only x905 thine own, and not x369 strangers' 2114 z8801 with x854 thee.

 5:18 Let thy fountain 4726 be x1961 blessed: 1288 z8803 and rejoice 8055 z8798 with the wife 802 x4480 of thy youth. 5271

 5:19 [Let her be as] the loving 158 hind 365 and pleasant 2580 roe; 3280 let her breasts 1717 satisfy 7301 z8762 thee at all x3605 times; 6256 and be thou ravished 7686 z8799 always 8548 with her love. 160

 5:20 And why x4100 wilt thou, my son, 1121 be ravished 7686 z8799 with a strange woman, 2114 z8801 and embrace 2263 z8762 the bosom 2436 of a stranger? 5237

 5:21 For x3588 the ways 1870 of man 376 [are] before 5227 the eyes 5869 of the LORD, 3068 and he pondereth 6424 z8764 all x3605 his goings. 4570

 5:22 ¶ His own iniquities 5771 shall take 3920 z8799 x853 the wicked 7563 himself, and he shall be holden 8551 z8735 with the cords 2256 of his sins. 2403

 5:23 He x1931 shall die 4191 z8799 without x369 instruction; 4148 and in the greatness 7230 of his folly 200 he shall go astray. 7686 z8799
