Proverbs 4

1 Solomon, to persuade obedience, 3 sheweth what instruction he had of his parents, 5 to study wisdom, 14 and to shun the path of the wicked. 20 He exhorteth to faith, 23 and sanctification.

 4:1 ¶ Hear, 8085 z8798 ye children, 1121 the instruction 4148 of a father, 1 and attend 7181 z8685 to know 3045 z8800 understanding. 998

 4:2 For x3588 I give 5414 z8804 you good 2896 doctrine, 3948 forsake 5800 z8799 ye not x408 my law. 8451

 4:3 For x3588 I was x1961 my father's 1 son, 1121 tender 7390 and only 3173 [beloved] in the sight 6440 of my mother. 517

 4:4 He taught 3384 z8686 me also, and said 559 z8799 unto me, Let thine heart 3820 retain 8551 z8799 my words: 1697 keep 8104 z8798 my commandments, 4687 and live. 2421 z8798

 4:5 Get 7069 z8798 wisdom, 2451 get 7069 z8798 understanding: 998 forget 7911 z8799 [it] not; x408 neither x408 decline 5186 z8799 from the words 561 x4480 of my mouth. 6310

 4:6 Forsake 5800 z8799 her not, x408 and she shall preserve 8104 z8799 thee: love 157 z8798 her, and she shall keep 5341 z8799 thee.

 4:7 Wisdom 2451 [is] the principal thing; 7225 [therefore] get 7069 z8798 wisdom: 2451 and with all x3605 thy getting 7075 get x7069 understanding. 998

 4:8 Exalt 5549 z8769 her, and she shall promote 7311 z8787 thee: she shall bring thee to honor, 3513 z8762 when x3588 thou dost embrace 2263 z8762 her.

 4:9 She shall give 5414 z8799 to thine head 7218 an ornament 3880 of grace: 2580 a crown 5850 of glory 8597 shall she deliver 4042 z8762 to thee.

 4:10 Hear, 8085 z8798 O my son, 1121 and receive 3947 z8798 my sayings; 561 and the years 8141 of thy life 2416 shall be many. 7235 z8799

 4:11 I have taught 3384 z8689 thee in the way 1870 of wisdom; 2451 I have led 1869 z8689 thee in right 3476 paths. 4570

 4:12 When thou goest, y3212 z8800 x1980 thy steps 6806 shall not x3808 be straitened; 3334 z8799 and when x518 thou runnest, 7323 z8799 thou shalt not x3808 stumble. 3782 z8735

 4:13 Take fast hold 2388 z8685 of instruction; 4148 let [her] not x408 go: 7503 z8686 keep 5341 z8798 her; for x3588 she x1931 [is] thy life. 2416

 4:14 ¶ Enter 935 z8799 not x408 into the path 734 of the wicked, 7563 and go 833 z8762 not x408 in the way 1870 of evil 7451 [men].

 4:15 Avoid 6544 z8798 it, pass 5674 z8799 not x408 by it, turn 7847 z8798 from x4480 x5921 it, and pass away. 5674 z8798

 4:16 For x3588 they sleep 3462 z8799 not, x3808 except x518 x3808 they have done mischief; 7489 z8686 and their sleep 8142 is taken away, 1497 z8738 unless x518 x3808 they cause [some] to fall. 3782 z8686 z8675 z8799

 4:17 For x3588 they eat 3898 z8804 the bread 3899 of wickedness, 7562 and drink 8354 z8799 the wine 3196 of violence. 2555

 4:18 But the path 734 of the just 6662 [is] as the shining 5051 light, 216 that shineth 215 z8804 more y1980 z8802 and more x1980 unto x5704 the perfect 3559 z8737 day. 3117

 4:19 The way 1870 of the wicked 7563 [is] as darkness: 653 they know 3045 z8804 not x3808 at what x4100 they stumble. 3782 z8735

 4:20 ¶ My son, 1121 attend 7181 z8685 to my words; 1697 incline 5186 z8685 thine ear 241 unto my sayings. 561

 4:21 Let them not x408 depart 3868 z8686 from thine eyes; 5869 x4480 keep 8104 z8798 them in the midst 8432 of thine heart. 3824

 4:22 For x3588 they x1992 [are] life 2416 unto those that find 4672 z8802 them, and health 4832 to all x3605 their flesh. 1320

 4:23 ¶ Keep 5341 z8798 thy heart 3820 with all x4480 x3605 diligence; 4929 for x3588 out of x4480 it [are] the issues 8444 of life. 2416

 4:24 Put away 5493 z8685 from x4480 thee a froward 6143 mouth, 6310 and perverse 3891 lips 8193 put far 7368 z8685 from x4480 thee.

 4:25 Let thine eyes 5869 look 5027 z8686 right on, 5227 and let thine eyelids 6079 look straight 3474 z8686 before x5048 thee.
