Proverbs 22

1 From this chapter to the five and twentieth are sundry observations of moral virtues, and their contrary vices.

 22:1 ¶ A [good] name 8034 [is] rather to be chosen 977 z8737 than great 7227 riches, 6239 x4480 [and] loving 2896 favor 2580 rather than silver 3701 x4480 and gold. 2091 x4480

 22:3 A prudent 6175 [man] foreseeth 7200 z8804 the evil, 7451 and hideth 5641 z8738 z8675 z8799 himself: x5641 but the simple 6612 pass on, 5674 z8804 and are punished. 6064 z8738

 22:4 By 6118 humility 6038 [and] the fear 3374 of the LORD 3068 [are] riches, 6239 and honor, 3519 and life. 2416

 22:5 Thorns 6791 [and] snares 6341 [are] in the way 1870 of the froward: 6141 he that doth keep 8104 z8802 his soul 5315 shall be far 7368 z8799 from x4480 them.

 22:6 Train up 2596 z8798 a child 5288 in x5921 the way 1870 he should go: 6310 and x1571 when x3588 he is old, 2204 z8686 he will not x3808 depart 5493 z8799 from x4480 it.

 22:15 Foolishness 200 [is] bound 7194 z8803 in the heart 3820 of a child; 5288 [but] the rod 7626 of correction 4148 shall drive it far 7368 z8686 from x4480 him.

 22:16 He that oppresseth 6231 z8802 the poor 1800 to increase 7235 z8687 his [riches], [and] he that giveth 5414 z8802 to the rich, 6223 [shall] surely x389 [come] to want. 4270
