1 David subdueth the Philistines and the Moabites. 3 He smiteth Hadadezer, and the Syrians. 9 Toi sendeth Joram with presents to bless him. 11 The presents and the spoil David dedicateth to God. 14 He putteth garrisons in Edom. 16 David's officers.

 8:1 ¶ And after 310 this x3651 it came to pass, x1961 that David 1732 smote 5221 z8686 x853 the Philistines, 6430 and subdued 3665 z8686 them: and David 1732 took 3947 z8799 x853 Methegammah 4965 out of the hand 3027 x4480 of the Philistines. 6430

 8:2 And he smote 5221 z8686 x853 Moab, 4124 and measured 4058 z8762 them with a line, 2256 casting them down 7901 z8687 x853 to the ground; 776 even with two 8147 lines 2256 measured 4058 z8762 he to put to death, 4191 z8687 and with one full 4393 line 2256 to keep alive. 2421 z8687 And [so] the Moabites 4124 became x1961 David's 1732 servants, 5650 [and] brought 5375 z8802 gifts. 4503

 8:3 ¶ David 1732 smote 5221 z8686 also x853 Hadadezer, 1909 the son 1121 of Rehob, 7340 king 4428 of Zobah, 6678 as he went y3212 z8800 x1980 to recover 7725 z8687 his border 3027 at the river 5104 Euphrates. 6578

 8:4 And David 1732 took 3920 z8799 from x4480 him a thousand 505 [chariots], and seven 7651 hundred 3967 horsemen, 6571 and twenty 6242 thousand 505 footmen: 376 7273 and David 1732 houghed 6131 z8762 x853 all x3605 the chariot 7393 [horses], but reserved 3498 z8686 of x4480 them [for] an hundred 3967 chariots. 7393

 8:5 And when the Syrians 758 of Damascus 1834 came 935 z8799 to succour 5826 z8800 Hadadezer 1909 king 4428 of Zobah, 6678 David 1732 slew 5221 z8686 of the Syrians 758 two 8147 and twenty 6242 thousand 505 men. 376

 8:6 Then David 1732 put 7760 z8799 garrisons 5333 in Syria 758 of Damascus: 1834 and the Syrians 758 became x1961 servants 5650 to David, 1732 [and] brought 5375 z8802 gifts. 4503 And the LORD 3068 preserved 3467 z8686 x853 David 1732 whithersoever x3605 x834 he went. 1980 z8804

 8:7 And David 1732 took 3947 z8799 x853 the shields 7982 of gold 2091 that x834 were x1961 on x413 the servants 5650 of Hadadezer, 1909 and brought 935 z8686 them to Jerusalem. 3389

 8:12 Of Syria, 758 x4480 and of Moab, 4124 x4480 and of the children 1121 x4480 of Ammon, 5983 and of the Philistines, 6430 x4480 and of Amalek, 6002 x4480 and of the spoil 7998 x4480 of Hadadezer, 1909 son 1121 of Rehob, 7340 king 4428 of Zobah. 6678

 8:13 And David 1732 gat 6213 z8799 [him] a name 8034 when he returned 7725 z8800 from smiting 5221 z8687 x4480 of x853 the Syrians 758 in the valley 1516 of salt, 4417 [being] eighteen 8083 6240 thousand 505 [men].

 8:14 ¶ And he put 7760 z8799 garrisons 5333 in Edom; 123 throughout all x3605 Edom 123 put 7760 z8804 he garrisons, 5333 and all x3605 they of Edom 123 became x1961 David's 1732 servants. 5650 And the LORD 3068 preserved 3467 z8686 x853 David 1732 whithersoever x3605 x834 he went. 1980 z8804

 8:15 And David 1732 reigned 4427 z8799 over x5921 all x3605 Israel; 3478 and David 1732 executed 6213 z8802 judgment 4941 and justice 6666 unto all x3605 his people. 5971

 8:18 And Benaiah 1141 the son 1121 of Jehoiada 3077 [was over] both the Cherethites 3774 and the Pelethites; 6432 and David's 1732 sons 1121 were x1961 chief rulers. 3548
