2 Samuel 4

1 The Israelites being troubled at the death of Abner, 2 Baanah and Rechab slay Ish-bosheth, and bring his head to Hebron. 9 David causeth them to be slain, and Ish-bosheth's head to be buried.

 4:1 ¶ And when Saul's 7586 son 1121 heard 8085 z8799 that x3588 Abner 74 was dead 4191 z8804 in Hebron, 2275 his hands 3027 were feeble, 7503 z8799 and all x3605 the Israelites 3478 were troubled. 926 z8738

 4:2 And Saul's 7586 son 1121 had 1961 z8804 two 8147 men y582 x376 [that were] captains 8269 of bands: 1416 the name 8034 of the one 259 [was] Baanah, 1196 and the name 8034 of the other 8145 Rechab, 7394 the sons 1121 of Rimmon 7417 a Beerothite, 886 of the children 1121 x4480 of Benjamin: 1144 (for x3588 Beeroth 881 also x1571 was reckoned 2803 z8735 to x5921 Benjamin: 1144

 4:3 And the Beerothites 886 fled 1272 z8799 to Gittaim, 1664 and were x1961 sojourners 1481 z8802 there x8033 until x5704 this x2088 day.) 3117

 4:4 And Jonathan, 3083 Saul's 7586 son, 1121 had a son 1121 [that was] lame 5223 of [his] feet. 7272 He was x1961 five 2568 years 8141 old 1121 when the tidings 8052 came 935 z8800 of Saul 7586 and Jonathan 3083 out of Jezreel, 3157 x4480 and his nurse 539 z8802 took him up, 5375 z8799 and fled: 5127 z8799 and it came to pass, x1961 as she made haste 2648 z8800 to flee, 5127 z8800 that he fell, 5307 z8799 and became lame. 6452 z8735 And his name 8034 [was] Mephibosheth. 4648

 4:5 And the sons 1121 of Rimmon 7417 the Beerothite, 886 Rechab 7394 and Baanah, y1196 x1165 went, y3212 z8799 x1980 and came 935 z8799 about the heat 2527 of the day 3117 to x413 the house 1004 of Ishbosheth, 378 who x1931 lay 7901 z8802 on x853 a bed 4904 at noon. 6672

 4:6 And they came x935 thither y935 z8804 x2008 into x5704 the midst 8432 of the house, 1004 [as though] they would have fetched 3947 z8802 wheat; 2406 and they smote 5221 z8686 him under x413 the fifth 2570 [rib]: and Rechab 7394 and Baanah 1196 his brother 251 escaped. 4422 z8738

 4:7 For when they came 935 z8799 into the house, 1004 he x1931 lay 7901 z8802 on x5921 his bed 4296 in his bedchamber, 2315 4904 and they smote 5221 z8686 him, and slew 4191 z8686 him, and beheaded 5493 z8686 x853 x7218 him, and took 3947 z8799 x853 his head, 7218 and gat them away y3212 z8799 x1980 through 1870 the plain 6160 all x3605 night. 3915

 4:8 And they brought 935 z8686 x853 the head 7218 of Ishbosheth 378 unto x413 David 1732 to Hebron, 2275 and said 559 z8799 to x413 the king, 4428 Behold x2009 the head 7218 of Ishbosheth 378 the son 1121 of Saul 7586 thine enemy, 341 z8802 which x834 sought 1245 z8765 x853 thy life; 5315 and the LORD 3068 hath y5414 z8799 avenged 5360 x5414 my lord 113 the king 4428 this x2088 day 3117 of Saul, 7586 x4480 and of his seed. 2233 x4480

 4:9 ¶ And David 1732 answered 6030 z8799 x853 Rechab 7394 and Baanah 1196 his brother, 251 the sons 1121 of Rimmon 7417 the Beerothite, 886 and said 559 z8799 unto them, [As] the LORD 3068 liveth, 2416 who x834 hath redeemed 6299 z8804 x853 my soul 5315 out of all x4480 x3605 adversity, 6869

 4:10 When x3588 one told 5046 z8688 me, saying, 559 z8800 Behold, x2009 Saul 7586 is dead, 4191 z8804 thinking x5869 to have x1961 brought y5869 good tidings, 1319 z8764 I took hold 270 z8799 of him, and slew 2026 z8799 him in Ziklag, 6860 who x834 [thought] that I would have given 5414 z8800 him a reward for his tidings: 1309

 4:11 How much more, x637 when x3588 wicked 7563 men y582 x376 have slain 2026 z8804 x853 a righteous 6662 person 376 in his own house 1004 upon x5921 his bed? 4904 shall I not x3808 therefore now x6258 require 1245 z8762 x853 his blood 1818 of your hand, 3027 x4480 and take you away 1197 z8765 x853 from x4480 the earth? 776

 4:12 And David 1732 commanded 6680 z8762 x853 his young men, 5288 and they slew 2026 z8799 them, and cut off 7112 z8762 x853 their hands 3027 and their feet, 7272 and hanged [them] up 8518 z8799 over x5921 the pool 1295 in Hebron. 2275 But they took 3947 z8804 the head 7218 of Ishbosheth, 378 and buried 6912 z8799 [it] in the sepulchre 6913 of Abner 74 in Hebron. 2275
