Zechariah 9

1 God defendeth his Church. 9 Zion is exhorted to rejoice for the coming of Christ, and his peaceable Kingdom. 12 God's promises of victory and defence.

 9:1 ¶ The burden 4853 of the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 in the land 776 of Hadrach, 2317 and Damascus 1834 [shall bee] the rest 4496 thereof: when x3588 the eyes 5869 of man, 120 [as] of all x3605 the tribes 7626 of Israel 3478 [shalbe] toward the LORD. 3068

 9:2 And Hamath 2574 also x1571 shall border 1379 z8799 thereby; Tyrus 6865 and Zidon, 6721 though x3588 it be very 3966 wise. 2449 z8804

 9:3 And Tyrus 6865 did builde 1129 z8799 her selfe a strong hold, 4692 and heaped vp 6651 z8799 siluer 3701 as the dust, 6083 and fine golde 2742 as the myre 2916 of the streets. 2351

 9:4 Behold, x2009 the Lord 136 wil cast her out, 3423 z8686 and he will smite 5221 z8689 her power 2428 in the sea, 3220 and she x1931 shalbe deuoured 398 z8735 with fire. 784

 9:5 Ashkelon 831 shall see 7200 z8799 [it], and feare, 3372 z8799 Gaza 5804 also [shall see it] and be very y3966 sorrowfull, 2342 z8799 x3966 and Ekron: 6138 for x3588 her expectation 4007 shalbe ashamed, y3001 z8689 x954 and the king 4428 shall perish 6 z8804 from Gaza, 5804 x4480 and Ashkelon 831 shal not x3808 be inhabited. 3427 z8799

 9:6 And a bastard 4464 shall dwell 3427 z8804 in Ashdod, 795 and I will cut off 3772 z8689 the pride 1347 of the Philistines. 6430

 9:7 And I wil take away 5493 z8689 his blood 1818 out of his mouth, 6310 x4480 and his abominations 8251 from betweene x4480 x996 his teeth: 8127 but he that remaineth, 7604 z8738 euen x1571 hee x1931 [shalbe] for our God, 430 and he shall be x1961 as a gouernour 441 in Iudah, 3063 and Ekron 6138 as a Iebusite. 2983

 9:8 And I will encampe 2583 z8804 about mine house 1004 because of the armie, 4675 because of him that passeth by, 5674 z8802 x4480 and because of him that returneth: 7725 z8802 x4480 and no x3808 oppressour 5065 z8802 shall passe x5674 through y5674 z8799 x5921 them any more: x5750 for x3588 now x6258 haue I seene 7200 z8804 with mine eyes. 5869

 9:9 ¶ Reioyce 1523 z8798 greatly, 3966 O daughter 1323 of Zion; 6726 shout 7321 z8685 O daughter 1323 of Ierusalem: 3389 beholde, x2009 thy King 4428 commeth 935 z8799 vnto thee: hee x1931 [is] iust, 6662 and hauing saluation, 3467 z8737 lowly, 6041 and riding 7392 z8802 vpon x5921 an asse, 2543 and vpon x5921 a colt, 5895 the foale 1121 of an asse. 860

 9:10 And I wil cut off 3772 z8689 the charet 7393 from Ephraim, 669 x4480 and the horse 5483 from Ierusalem: 3389 x4480 and the battell 4421 bow 7198 shalbe cut off, 3772 z8738 and he shall speake 1696 z8765 peace 7965 vnto the heathen, 1471 and his dominion 4915 [shalbe] from sea 3220 x4480 euen to x5704 sea, 3220 and from the Riuer, 5104 x4480 euen to x5704 the ends 657 of the earth. 776

 9:11 As for thee x859 also, x1571 by the blood 1818 of thy Couenant, 1285 I haue sent foorth 7971 z8765 thy prisoners 615 out of the pit, 953 x4480 wherein [is] no x369 water. 4325

 9:12 ¶ Turne 7725 z8798 ye to the strong hold, 1225 ye prisoners 615 of hope, 8615 euen x1571 to day 3117 doe I declare 5046 z8688 that I will render 7725 z8686 double 4932 vnto thee:

 9:13 When x3588 I haue bent 1869 z8804 Iudah 3063 for me, filled 4390 z8765 the bow 7198 with Ephraim, 669 and raised x5782 vp y5782 z8790 thy sonnes 1121 O Zion, 6726 against x5921 thy sonnes, 1121 O Greece, 3120 and made 7760 z8804 thee as the sword 2719 of a mightie man. 1368

 9:14 And the LORD 3068 shalbe seene 7200 z8735 ouer x5921 them, and his arrow 2671 shall goe forth 3318 z8804 as the lightning: 1300 and the Lord 136 GOD 3069 shall blow 8628 z8799 the trumpet, 7782 and shall goe 1980 z8804 with whirlewinds 5591 of the South. 8486

 9:15 The LORD 3068 of hostes 6635 shall defend 1598 z8686 x5921 them, and they shall deuoure, 398 z8804 and subdue 3533 z8804 with sling y7050 stones, 68 x7050 and they shal drinke 8354 z8804 [and] make a noise, 1993 z8804 as through x3644 wine, 3196 and they shall bee filled 4390 z8804 like bowles, 4219 [and] as the corners 2106 of the Altar. 4196

 9:16 And the LORD 3068 their God 430 shall saue 3467 z8689 them in that x1931 day 3117 as the flock 6629 of his people, 5971 for x3588 [they shall be as] the stones 68 of a crowne 5145 lifted vp as an ensigne 5264 z8706 vpon x5921 his land. 127

 9:17 For x3588 how x4100 great [is] his goodnesse, 2898 and how x4100 great [is] his beautie? 3308 corne 1715 shal make the yong men 970 cheerefull, 5107 z8766 and new wine 8492 the maides. 1330
