Zechariah 7

1 The captives enquire of fasting. 4 Zechariah reproveth their fasting. 8 Sin the cause of their captivity.

 7:1 ¶ And it came to passe x1961 in the fourth 702 yeere 8141 of King 4428 Darius, 1867 that the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came x1961 vnto x413 Zechariah 2148 in the fourth 702 [day] of the ninth 8671 moneth, 2320 [euen] in Chisleu. 3691

 7:2 When they had sent 7971 z8799 vnto the house y1004 of God, y410 x1008 Sherezer 8272 and Regem-melech, 7278 and their men y582 x376 to pray 2470 z8763 x853 before 6440 the LORD, 3068

 7:3 [And] to speake 559 z8800 vnto x413 the priestes, 3548 which x834 [were] in the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 and to x413 the prophets, 5030 saying, 559 z8800 Should I weepe 1058 z8799 in the fift 2549 moneth, 2320 separating y5144 z8736 my selfe, x5144 as x834 I haue done 6213 z8804 these x2088 so many x4100 yeeres? 8141

 7:4 ¶ Then came x1961 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 vnto x413 me, saying, 559 z8800

 7:5 Speake 559 z8798 vnto x413 all x3605 the people 5971 of the land, 776 and to x413 the priests, 3548 saying, 559 z8800 When x3588 ye fasted 6684 z8804 and mourned 5594 z8800 in the fift 2549 and seuenth 7637 [moneth], euen those x2088 seuenty 7657 yeeres; 8141 did ye at all y6684 z8800 fast 6684 z8804 vnto me, [euen] to me? x589

 7:6 And when x3588 ye did eat, 398 z8799 and when x3588 ye did drinke, 8354 z8799 did not x3808 ye x859 eat 398 z8802 [for your selues], and drinke 8354 z8802 [for your selues]?

 7:7 [Should yee] not x3808 [heare] x853 the wordes, 1697 which x834 the LORD 3068 hath cried 7121 z8804 by 3027 the former 7223 Prophets, 5030 when Ierusalem 3389 was x1961 inhabited, 3427 z8802 and in prosperitie, 7961 and the cities 5892 thereof round about x5439 her, y5439 when [men] inhabited 3427 z8802 the South 5045 of the plaine? 8219

 7:8 ¶ And the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came x1961 vnto x413 Zechariah, 2148 saying; 559 z8800

 7:9 Thus x3541 speaketh 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hostes, 6635 saying, 559 z8800 Execute 8199 z8798 true 571 iudgement, 4941 and shew 6213 z8798 mercie 2617 and compassions 7356 euery man 376 to x854 his brother. 251

 7:10 And oppresse 6231 z8799 not x408 the widow, 490 nor the fatherlesse, 3490 the stranger, 1616 nor the poore, 6041 and let none x408 of you imagine 2803 z8799 euill 7451 x376 against y376 his brother 251 in your heart. 3824

 7:11 But they refused 3985 z8762 to hearken, 7181 z8687 and pulled x5414 away 5637 y5414 z8799 z8802 the shoulder, 3802 and stopped 3513 z8689 their eares, 241 that they should not heare. 8085 z8800 x4480

 7:12 Yea, they made 7760 z8804 their hearts 3820 [as] an adamant stone, 8068 lest they should heare 8085 z8800 x4480 the x853 Law, 8451 and the wordes 1697 which x834 the LORD 3068 of hostes 6635 hath sent 7971 z8804 in his spirit 7307 by 3027 the former 7223 Prophets: 5030 therefore came x1961 a great 1419 wrath 7110 from x4480 x854 the LORD 3068 of hostes. 6635

 7:13 Therefore it is come to passe, x1961 [that] as x834 he cried, 7121 z8804 and they would not x3808 heare, 8085 z8804 so x3651 they cried, 7121 z8799 and I would not x3808 heare, 8085 z8799 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hostes. 6635

 7:14 But I scattered them with a whirlewinde 5590 z8762 among x5921 all x3605 the nations, 1471 whom x834 they knew 3045 z8804 not: x3808 thus the land 776 was desolate 8074 z8738 after 310 them, that no man passed through, 5674 z8802 x4480 nor returned: 7725 z8802 x4480 for they layed 7760 z8799 the pleasant 2532 land 776 desolate. 8047
