1 Job longeth to appear before God, 6 in confidence of his mercy. 8 God, who is invisible, observeth our ways. 11 Job's innocency. 13 God's decree is immutable.

 23:1 ¶ Then Job 347 answered 6030 z8799 and said, 559 z8799

 23:2 Even x1571 to day 3117 [is] my complaint 7879 bitter: 4805 my stroke 3027 is heavier 3513 z8804 than x5921 my groaning. 585

 23:3 Oh that 5414 z8799 x4310 I knew 3045 z8804 where I might find 4672 z8799 him! [that] I might come 935 z8799 [even] to x5704 his seat! 8499

 23:4 I would order 6186 z8799 [my] cause 4941 before 6440 him, and fill 4390 z8762 my mouth 6310 with arguments. 8433

 23:5 I would know 3045 z8799 the words 4405 [which] he would answer 6030 z8799 me, and understand 995 z8799 what x4100 he would say 559 z8799 unto me.

 23:6 Will he plead 7378 z8799 against 5978 me with [his] great 7230 power? 3581 No; x3808 but x389 he x1931 would put 7760 z8799 [strength] in me.

 23:7 There x8033 the righteous 3477 might dispute 3198 z8737 with x5973 him; so should I be delivered 6403 z8762 for ever 5331 from my judge. 8199 z8802 x4480

 23:8 Behold, x2005 I go 1980 z8799 forward, 6924 but he [is] not x369 [there]; and backward, 268 but I cannot x3808 perceive 995 z8799 him:

 23:9 On the left hand, 8040 where he doth work, 6213 z8800 but I cannot x3808 behold 2372 z8799 [him]: he hideth 5848 z8799 himself on the right hand, 3225 that I cannot x3808 see 7200 z8799 [him]:

 23:10 But x3588 he knoweth 3045 z8804 the way 1870 that I take: 5978 [when] he hath tried 974 z8804 me, I shall come forth 3318 z8799 as gold. 2091

 23:11 My foot 7272 hath held 270 z8804 his steps, 838 his way 1870 have I kept, 8104 z8804 and not x3808 declined. 5186 z8686

 23:12 Neither x3808 have I gone back 4185 z8686 from the commandment 4687 of his lips; 8193 I have esteemed 6845 z8804 the words 561 of his mouth 6310 more than my necessary 2706 x4480 [food].

 23:13 But he x1931 [is] in one 259 [mind], and who x4310 can turn 7725 z8686 him? and [what] his soul 5315 desireth, 183 z8765 even [that] he doeth. 6213 z8799

 23:14 For x3588 he performeth 7999 z8686 [the thing that is] appointed 2706 for me: and many 7227 such 2007 [things are] with x5973 him.

 23:16 For God 410 maketh my heart y3820 soft, 7401 z8689 x3820 and the Almighty 7706 troubleth 926 z8689 me:
