Judges 13

1 Israel is in the hand of the Philistines. 2 An angel appeareth to Manoah's wife. 8 The angel appeareth to Manoah. 15 Manoah's sacrifice, whereby the angel is discovered. 24 Samson is born.

 13:1 ¶ And the children 1121 of Israel 3478 did 6213 z8800 evil 7451 again 3254 z8686 in the sight 5869 of the LORD; 3068 and the LORD 3068 delivered 5414 z8799 them into the hand 3027 of the Philistines 6430 forty 705 years. 8141

 13:2 ¶ And there was x1961 a certain 259 man 376 of Zorah, y6881 x4480 x6681 of the family 4940 x4480 of the Danites, 1839 whose name 8034 [was] Manoah; 4495 and his wife 802 [was] barren, 6135 and bore 3205 z8804 not. x3808

 13:3 And the angel 4397 of the LORD 3068 appeared 7200 z8735 unto x413 the woman, 802 and said 559 z8799 unto x413 her, Behold x2009 now, x4994 thou x859 [art] barren, 6135 and bearest 3205 z8804 not: x3808 but thou shalt conceive, 2029 z8804 and bear 3205 z8804 a son. 1121

 13:4 Now x6258 therefore beware, 8104 z8734 I pray thee, x4994 and drink 8354 z8799 not x408 wine 3196 nor strong drink, 7941 and eat 398 z8799 not x408 any x3605 unclean 2931 [thing]:

 13:5 For, x3588 lo, x2009 thou shalt conceive, y2030 x2029 and bear 3205 z8802 a son; 1121 and no x3808 razor 4177 shall come 5927 z8799 on x5921 his head: 7218 for x3588 the child 5288 shall be x1961 a Nazarite 5139 unto God 430 from x4480 the womb: 990 and he x1931 shall begin 2490 z8686 to deliver 3467 z8687 x853 Israel 3478 out of the hand 3027 x4480 of the Philistines. 6430

 13:6 ¶ Then the woman 802 came 935 z8799 and told 559 z8799 her husband, 376 saying, 559 z8800 A man 376 of God 430 came 935 z8804 unto x413 me, and his countenance 4758 [was] like the countenance 4758 of an angel 4397 of God, 430 very 3966 terrible: 3372 z8737 but I asked 7592 z8804 him not x3808 whence x335 x4480 x2088 he x1931 [was], neither x3808 told 5046 z8689 he me his name: 8034

 13:7 But he said 559 z8799 unto me, Behold, x2009 thou shalt conceive, y2030 x2029 and bear 3205 z8802 a son; 1121 and now x6258 drink y7941 x8354 no x408 wine 3196 nor strong drink, y8354 z8799 x7941 neither x408 eat 398 z8799 any x3605 unclean 2932 [thing]: for x3588 the child 5288 shall be x1961 a Nazarite 5139 to God 430 from x4480 the womb 990 to x5704 the day 3117 of his death. 4194

 13:8 ¶ Then Manoah 4495 entreated 6279 z8799 x413 the LORD, 3068 and said, 559 z8799 O 994 my Lord, 136 let y4994 the man 376 of God 430 which x834 thou didst send 7971 z8804 come x935 again y935 z8799 x5750 unto x413 us, and teach 3384 z8686 us what x4100 we shall do 6213 z8799 unto the child 5288 that shall be born. 3205 z8795

 13:9 And God 430 hearkened 8085 z8799 to the voice 6963 of Manoah; 4495 and the angel 4397 of God 430 came x935 again y935 z8799 x5750 unto x413 the woman 802 as she x1931 sat 3427 z8802 in the field: 7704 but Manoah 4495 her husband 376 [was] not x369 with x5973 her.

 13:10 And the woman 802 made haste, 4116 z8762 and ran, 7323 z8799 and showed 5046 z8686 her husband, 376 and said 559 z8799 unto x413 him, Behold, x2009 the man 376 hath appeared 7200 z8738 unto x413 me, that x834 came 935 z8804 unto x413 me the [other] day. 3117

 13:11 And Manoah 4495 arose, 6965 z8799 and went y3212 z8799 x1980 after 310 his wife, 802 and came 935 z8799 to x413 the man, 376 and said 559 z8799 unto him, [Art] thou x859 the man 376 that x834 spakest 1696 z8765 unto x413 the woman? 802 And he said, 559 z8799 I x589 [am].

 13:12 And Manoah 4495 said, 559 z8799 Now x6258 let thy words 1697 come to pass. 935 z8799 How x4100 shall we order 4941 x1961 the child, 5288 and [how] shall we do 4639 unto him?

 13:13 And the angel 4397 of the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 unto x413 Manoah, 4495 Of all x4480 x3605 that x834 I said 559 z8804 unto x413 the woman 802 let her beware. 8104 z8735

 13:14 She may not x3808 eat 398 z8799 of any x4480 x3605 [thing] that x834 cometh 3318 z8799 of the vine, 1612 x4480 neither x408 let her drink 8354 z8799 wine 3196 or strong drink, 7941 nor x408 eat 398 z8799 any x3605 unclean 2932 [thing]: all x3605 that x834 I commanded 6680 z8765 her let her observe. 8104 z8799

 13:15 ¶ And Manoah 4495 said 559 z8799 unto x413 the angel 4397 of the LORD, 3068 I pray thee, x4994 let us detain 6113 z8799 thee, until we shall have made ready 6213 z8799 a kid 1423 5795 for 6440 thee.

 13:16 And the angel 4397 of the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 unto x413 Manoah, 4495 Though x518 thou detain 6113 z8799 me, I will not x3808 eat 398 z8799 of thy bread: 3899 and if 518 thou wilt offer 6213 z8799 a burnt offering, 5930 thou must offer 5927 z8686 it unto the LORD. 3068 For x3588 Manoah 4495 knew 3045 z8804 not x3808 that x3588 he x1931 [was] an angel 4397 of the LORD. 3068

 13:17 And Manoah 4495 said 559 z8799 unto x413 the angel 4397 of the LORD, 3068 What x4310 [is] thy name, 8034 that when x3588 thy sayings 1697 come to pass 935 z8799 we may do thee honor? 3513 z8765

 13:18 And the angel 4397 of the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 unto him, Why x4100 askest 7592 z8799 thou thus x2088 after my name, 8034 seeing it x1931 [is] secret? 6383 z8675

 13:19 So Manoah 4495 took 3947 z8799 x853 a kid 1423 5795 with x854 a meat offering, 4503 and offered 5927 z8799 [it] upon x5921 a rock 6697 unto the LORD: 3068 and [the angel] did 6213 z8800 wondrously; 6381 z8688 and Manoah 4495 and his wife 802 looked on. 7200 z8802

 13:20 For it came to pass, x1961 when the flame 3851 went up 5927 z8800 toward heaven 8064 from off x4480 x5921 the altar, 4196 that the angel 4397 of the LORD 3068 ascended 5927 z8799 in the flame 3851 of the altar. 4196 And Manoah 4495 and his wife 802 looked on 7200 z8802 [it], and fell x5307 on y5307 z8799 x5921 their faces 6440 to the ground. 776

 13:21 But the angel 4397 of the LORD 3068 did no x3808 more 3254 z8804 appear 7200 z8736 to x413 Manoah 4495 and to x413 his wife. 802 Then x227 Manoah 4495 knew 3045 z8804 that x3588 he x1931 [was] an angel 4397 of the LORD. 3068

 13:22 And Manoah 4495 said 559 z8799 unto x413 his wife, 802 We shall surely y4191 z8800 die, 4191 z8799 because x3588 we have seen 7200 z8804 God. 430

 13:23 But his wife 802 said 559 z8799 unto him, If 3863 the LORD 3068 were pleased 2654 z8804 to kill 4191 z8687 us, he would not x3808 have received 3947 z8804 a burnt offering 5930 and a meat offering 4503 at our hands, 3027 x4480 neither x3808 would he have showed 7200 z8689 us x853 all x3605 these x428 [things], nor x3808 would as at this time 6256 have told 8085 z8689 us [such things] as these. 2063

 13:24 ¶ And the woman 802 bore 3205 z8799 a son, 1121 and called 7121 z8799 x853 his name 8034 Samson: 8123 and the child 5288 grew, 1431 z8799 and the LORD 3068 blessed 1288 z8762 him.

 13:25 And the Spirit 7307 of the LORD 3068 began 2490 z8686 to move x6470 him at times y6470 z8800 in the camp 4264 of Dan 1835 between x996 Zorah 6881 and Eshtaol. 847
