Isaiah 48

1 God to convince the people of their foreknown obstinacy, revealeth his prophecies. 9 He saveth them for his own sake. 12 He exhorteth them to obedience, because of his power and providence. 16 He lamenteth their backwardness. 20 He powerfully delivereth his people out of Babylon.

 48:1 ¶ Hear 8085 z8798 ye this, x2063 O house 1004 of Jacob, 3290 which are called 7121 z8737 by the name 8034 of Israel, 3478 and are come forth 3318 z8804 out of the waters 4325 x4480 of Judah, 3063 which swear 7650 z8737 by the name 8034 of the LORD, 3068 and make mention 2142 z8686 of the God 430 of Israel, 3478 [but] not x3808 in truth, 571 nor x3808 in righteousness. 6666

 48:2 For x3588 they call y7121 z8738 themselves x7121 of the holy 6944 city, 5892 x4480 and stay y5564 z8738 themselves x5564 upon x5921 the God 430 of Israel; 3478 The LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 [is] his name. 8034

 48:3 I have declared 5046 z8689 the former things 7223 from the beginning; 227 x4480 and they went forth 3318 z8804 out of my mouth, 6310 x4480 and I showed 8085 z8686 them; I did 6213 z8804 [them] suddenly, 6597 and they came to pass. 935 z8799

 48:4 Because I knew y1847 x4480 x3045 that x3588 thou x859 [art] obstinate, 7186 and thy neck 6203 [is] an iron 1270 sinew, 1517 and thy brow 4696 brass; 5154

 48:5 I have even from the beginning 227 x4480 declared 5046 z8686 [it] to thee; before x2962 it came to pass 935 z8799 I showed 8085 z8689 [it] thee: lest x6435 thou shouldest say, 559 z8799 Mine idol 6090 hath done 6213 z8804 them, and my graven image, 6459 and my molten image, 5262 hath commanded 6680 z8765 them.

 48:6 Thou hast heard, 8085 z8804 see 2372 z8798 all x3605 this; and will not x3808 ye x859 declare 5046 z8686 [it]? I have showed 8085 z8689 thee new things 2319 from this time, 6258 x4480 even hidden things, 5341 z8803 and thou didst not x3808 know 3045 z8804 them.

 48:7 They are created 1254 z8738 now, x6258 and not x3808 from the beginning; x4480 x227 even before 6440 the day 3117 when thou heardest 8085 z8804 them not; x3808 lest x6435 thou shouldest say, 559 z8799 Behold, x2009 I knew 3045 z8804 them.

 48:8 Yea, x1571 thou heardest 8085 z8804 not; x3808 yea, x1571 thou knewest 3045 z8804 not; x3808 yea, x1571 from that time x4480 x227 [that] thine ear 241 was not x3808 opened: 6605 z8765 for x3588 I knew 3045 z8804 that thou wouldest deal very y898 z8800 treacherously, 898 z8799 and wast called 7121 z8795 a transgressor 6586 z8802 from the womb. 990 x4480

 48:9 ¶ For my name's y8034 sake x4616 x8034 will I defer 748 z8686 mine anger, 639 and for my praise 8416 will I refrain 2413 z8799 for thee, that I cut thee not off. 3772 z8687 x1115

 48:10 Behold, x2009 I have refined 6884 z8804 thee, but not x3808 with silver; 3701 I have chosen 977 z8804 thee in the furnace 3564 of affliction. 6040

 48:11 For mine own sake, x4616 [even] for mine own sake, x4616 will I do 6213 z8799 [it]: for x3588 how x349 should [my name] be polluted? 2490 z8735 and I will not x3808 give 5414 z8799 my glory 3519 unto another. 312

 48:12 ¶ Hearken 8085 z8798 unto x413 me, O Jacob 3290 and Israel, 3478 my called; 7121 z8794 I x589 [am] he; x1931 I x589 [am] the first, 7223 I x589 also x637 [am] the last. 314

 48:13 Mine hand 3027 also x637 hath laid the foundation 3245 z8804 of the earth, 776 and my right hand 3225 hath spanned 2946 z8765 the heavens: 8064 [when] I x589 call 7121 z8802 unto x413 them, they stand up 5975 z8799 together. 3162

 48:14 All x3605 ye, assemble y6908 z8734 yourselves, x6908 and hear; 8085 z8798 which x4310 among them hath declared 5046 z8689 x853 these x428 [things]? The LORD 3068 hath loved 157 z8804 him: he will do 6213 z8799 his pleasure 2656 on Babylon, 894 and his arm 2220 [shall be on] the Chaldeans. 3778

 48:15 I, x589 [even] I, x589 have spoken; 1696 z8765 yea, x637 I have called 7121 z8804 him: I have brought 935 z8689 him, and he shall make his way 1870 prosperous. 6743 z8689

 48:16 ¶ Come y7126 z8798 ye near 7126 z8798 unto x413 me, hear 8085 z8798 ye this; x2063 I have not x3808 spoken 1696 z8765 in secret 5643 from the beginning; 7218 x4480 from the time 6256 x4480 that it was, x1961 there x8033 [am] I: x589 and now x6258 the Lord 136 GOD, 3069 and his Spirit, 7307 hath sent 7971 z8804 me.

 48:17 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD, 3068 thy Redeemer, 1350 z8802 the Holy One 6918 of Israel; 3478 I x589 [am] the Lord 3068 thy God 430 which teacheth 3925 z8764 thee to profit, 3276 z8687 which leadeth 1869 z8688 thee by the way 1870 [that] thou shouldest go. y3212 z8799 x1980

 48:18 O that 3863 thou hadst hearkened 7181 z8689 to my commandments! 4687 then had thy peace 7965 been x1961 as a river, 5104 and thy righteousness 6666 as the waves 1530 of the sea: 3220

 48:19 Thy seed 2233 also had been x1961 as the sand, 2344 and the offspring 6631 of thy bowels 4578 like the gravel 4579 thereof; his name 8034 should not x3808 have been cut off 3772 z8735 nor x3808 destroyed 8045 z8735 from before 6440 x4480 me.

 48:20 ¶ Go ye forth 3318 z8798 of Babylon, 894 x4480 flee 1272 z8798 ye from the Chaldeans, 3778 x4480 with a voice 6963 of singing 7440 declare 5046 z8685 ye, tell 8085 z8685 this, x2063 utter 3318 z8685 it [even] to x5704 the end 7097 of the earth; 776 say 559 z8798 ye, The LORD 3068 hath redeemed 1350 z8804 his servant 5650 Jacob. 3290

 48:21 And they thirsted 6770 z8804 not x3808 [when] he led y3212 z8689 x1980 them through the deserts: 2723 he caused the waters 4325 to flow 5140 z8689 out of the rock 6697 x4480 for them: he cleaved 1234 z8799 the rock 6697 also, and the waters 4325 gushed out. 2100 z8799
