1 The daughters of Zelophehad sue for an inheritance. 6 The law of inheritances. 12 Moses, being told of his death, sueth for a successor. 18 Joshua is appointed to succeed him.

 27:1 ¶ Then came 7126 z8799 the daughters 1323 of Zelophehad, 6765 the son 1121 of Hepher, 2660 the son 1121 of Gilead, 1568 the son 1121 of Machir, 4353 the son 1121 of Manasseh, 4519 of the families 4940 of Manasseh 4519 the son 1121 of Joseph: 3130 and these x428 [are] the names 8034 of his daughters; 1323 Mahlah, 4244 Noah, 5270 and Hoglah, 2295 and Milcah, 4435 and Tirzah. 8656

 27:2 And they stood 5975 z8799 before 6440 Moses, 4872 and before 6440 Eleazar 499 the priest, 3548 and before 6440 the princes 5387 and all x3605 the congregation, 5712 [by] the door 6607 of the tabernacle 168 of the congregation, 4150 saying, 559 z8800

 27:3 Our father 1 died 4191 z8804 in the wilderness, 4057 and he x1931 was x1961 not x3808 in 8432 the company 5712 of them that gathered themselves together 3259 z8737 against x5921 the LORD 3068 in the company 5712 of Korah; 7141 but x3588 died 4191 z8804 in his own sin, 2399 and had x1961 no x3808 sons. 1121

 27:4 Why x4100 should the name 8034 of our father 1 be done away 1639 z8735 from among 8432 x4480 his family, 4940 because x3588 he hath no x369 son? 1121 Give 5414 z8798 unto us [therefore] a possession 272 among 8432 the brethren 251 of our father. 1

 27:5 And Moses 4872 brought 7126 z8686 x853 their cause 4941 before 6440 the LORD. 3068

 27:6 ¶ And the LORD 3068 spake 559 z8799 unto x413 Moses, 4872 saying, 559 z8800

 27:7 The daughters 1323 of Zelophehad 6765 speak 1696 z8802 right: 3651 thou shalt surely y5414 z8800 give 5414 z8799 them a possession 272 of an inheritance 5159 among 8432 their father's 1 brethren; 251 and thou shalt cause x853 the inheritance 5159 of their father 1 to pass 5674 z8689 unto them.

 27:8 And thou shalt speak 1696 z8762 unto x413 the children 1121 of Israel, 3478 saying, 559 z8800 If x3588 a man 376 die, 4191 z8799 and have no x369 son, 1121 then ye shall cause x853 his inheritance 5159 to pass 5674 z8689 unto his daughter. 1323

 27:9 And if x518 he have no x369 daughter, 1323 then ye shall give 5414 z8804 x853 his inheritance 5159 unto his brethren. 251

 27:10 And if x518 he have no x369 brethren, 251 then ye shall give 5414 z8804 x853 his inheritance 5159 unto his father's 1 brethren. 251

 27:11 And if x518 his father 1 have no x369 brethren, 251 then ye shall give 5414 z8804 x853 his inheritance 5159 unto his kinsman 7607 that is next 7138 to x413 him of his family, 4940 x4480 and he shall possess 3423 z8804 it: and it shall be x1961 unto the children 1121 of Israel 3478 a statute 2708 of judgment, 4941 as x834 the LORD 3068 commanded 6680 z8765 x853 Moses. 4872

 27:12 ¶ And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 unto x413 Moses, 4872 Get thee up 5927 z8798 into x413 this x2088 mount 2022 Abarim, 5682 and see 7200 z8798 x853 the land 776 which x834 I have given 5414 z8804 unto the children 1121 of Israel. 3478

 27:13 And when thou hast seen 7200 z8804 it, thou x859 also x1571 shalt be gathered 622 z8738 unto x413 thy people, 5971 as x834 Aaron 175 thy brother 251 was gathered. 622 z8738

 27:14 For x834 ye rebelled y4784 z8804 against x4784 my commandment 6310 in the desert 4057 of Zin, 6790 in the strife 4808 of the congregation, 5712 to sanctify 6942 z8687 me at the water 4325 before their eyes: 5869 that x1992 [is] the water 4325 of Meribah 4809 in Kadesh 6946 in the wilderness 4057 of Zin. 6790

 27:15 ¶ And Moses 4872 spake 1696 z8762 unto x413 the LORD, 3068 saying, 559 z8800

 27:16 Let the LORD, 3068 the God 430 of the spirits 7307 of all x3605 flesh, 1320 set 6485 z8799 a man 376 over x5921 the congregation, 5712

 27:17 Which x834 may go out 3318 z8799 before 6440 them, and which x834 may go in 935 z8799 before 6440 them, and which x834 may lead them out, 3318 z8686 and which x834 may bring them in; 935 z8686 that the congregation 5712 of the LORD 3068 be x1961 not x3808 as sheep 6629 which x834 have no x369 shepherd. 7462 z8802

 27:18 ¶ And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 unto x413 Moses, 4872 Take 3947 z8798 thee x853 Joshua 3091 the son 1121 of Nun, 5126 a man 376 in whom x834 [is] the spirit, 7307 and lay 5564 z8804 x853 thine hand 3027 upon x5921 him;

 27:19 And set 5975 z8689 him before 6440 Eleazar 499 the priest, 3548 and before 6440 all x3605 the congregation; 5712 and give him a charge 6680 z8765 x853 in their sight. 5869

 27:20 And thou shalt put 5414 z8804 [some] of thine honour 1935 x4480 upon x5921 him, that x4616 all x3605 the congregation 5712 of the children 1121 of Israel 3478 may be obedient. 8085 z8799

 27:21 And he shall stand 5975 z8799 before 6440 Eleazar 499 the priest, 3548 who shall ask 7592 z8804 [counsel] for him after the judgment 4941 of Urim 224 before 6440 the LORD: 3068 at x5921 his word 6310 shall they go out, 3318 z8799 and at x5921 his word 6310 they shall come in, 935 z8799 [both] he, x1931 and all x3605 the children 1121 of Israel 3478 with x854 him, even all x3605 the congregation. 5712

 27:22 And Moses 4872 did 6213 z8799 as x834 the LORD 3068 commanded 6680 z8765 him: and he took 3947 z8799 x853 Joshua, 3091 and set 5975 z8686 him before 6440 Eleazar 499 the priest, 3548 and before 6440 all x3605 the congregation: 5712

 27:23 And he laid 5564 z8799 x853 his hands 3027 upon x5921 him, and gave him a charge, 6680 z8762 as x834 the LORD 3068 commanded 1696 z8765 by the hand 3027 of Moses. 4872
