Ezekiel 18

1 God reproveth the unjust parable of sour grapes. 5 He sheweth how he dealeth with a just father: 10 with a wicked son of a just father: 14 with a just son of a wicked father: 19 with a wicked man repenting: 24 with a just man revolting. 25 He defendeth his justice, 31 and exhorteth to repentance.

 18:1 ¶ The word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came x1961 unto x413 me again, saying, 559 z8800

 18:2 What x4100 mean ye, that ye x859 use 4911 z8802 this x2088 x853 proverb 4912 concerning x5921 the land 127 of Israel, 3478 saying, 559 z8800 The fathers 1 have eaten 398 z8799 sour grapes, 1155 and the children's 1121 teeth 8127 are set on edge? 6949 z8799

 18:3 [As] I x589 live, 2416 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD, 3069 ye shall not x518 have x1961 [occasion] any more x5750 to use 4911 z8800 this x2088 proverb 4912 in Israel. 3478

 18:4 Behold, x2005 all x3605 souls 5315 are mine; as the soul 5315 of the father, 1 so also the soul 5315 of the son 1121 is mine: the soul 5315 that sinneth, 2398 z8802 it x1931 shall die. 4191 z8799

 18:5 ¶ But if x3588 a man 376 be x1961 just, 6662 and do 6213 z8804 that which is lawful 4941 and right, 6666

 18:6 [And] hath not x3808 eaten 398 z8804 upon x413 the mountains, 2022 neither x3808 hath lifted up 5375 z8804 his eyes 5869 to x413 the idols 1544 of the house 1004 of Israel, 3478 neither x3808 hath defiled 2930 z8765 his neighbour's 7453 wife, 802 neither x3808 hath come near 7126 z8799 to x413 a menstruous 5079 woman, 802

 18:7 And hath not x3808 oppressed 3238 z8686 any, 376 [but] hath restored 7725 z8686 to the debtor 2326 his pledge, 2258 hath spoiled 1497 z8799 none x3808 by violence, 1500 hath given 5414 z8799 his bread 3899 to the hungry, 7457 and hath covered 3680 z8762 the naked 5903 with a garment; 899

 18:10 ¶ If he beget 3205 z8689 a son 1121 [that is] a robber, 6530 a shedder 8210 z8802 of blood, 1818 and [that] doeth 6213 z8804 the like 251 to [any] one 259 x4480 of these x4480 x428 [things],

 18:12 Hath oppressed 3238 z8689 the poor 6041 and needy, 34 hath spoiled 1497 z8804 by violence, 1500 hath not x3808 restored 7725 z8686 the pledge, 2258 and hath lifted up 5375 z8804 his eyes 5869 to x413 the idols, 1544 hath committed 6213 z8804 abomination, 8441

 18:13 Hath given forth 5414 z8804 upon usury, 5392 and hath taken 3947 z8804 increase: 8636 shall he then live? y2425 z8804 x2421 he shall not x3808 live: 2421 z8799 he hath done 6213 z8804 x853 all x3605 these x428 abominations; 8441 he shall surely y4191 z8800 die; 4191 z8714 his blood 1818 shall be x1961 upon him.

 18:16 Neither x3808 hath oppressed 3238 z8689 any, 376 hath not x3808 withholden 2254 z8804 the pledge, 2258 neither x3808 hath spoiled 1497 z8804 by violence, 1500 [but] hath given 5414 z8804 his bread 3899 to the hungry, 7457 and hath covered 3680 z8765 the naked 5903 with a garment, 899

 18:19 ¶ Yet say 559 z8804 ye, Why? x4069 doth not x3808 the son 1121 bear 5375 z8804 the iniquity 5771 of the father? 1 When the son 1121 hath done 6213 z8804 that which is lawful 4941 and right, 6666 [and] hath kept 8104 z8804 x853 all x3605 my statutes, 2708 and hath done 6213 z8799 them, he shall surely y2421 z8800 live. 2421 z8799

 18:20 The soul 5315 that sinneth, 2398 z8802 it x1931 shall die. 4191 z8799 The son 1121 shall not x3808 bear 5375 z8799 the iniquity 5771 of the father, 1 neither x3808 shall the father 1 bear 5375 z8799 the iniquity 5771 of the son: 1121 the righteousness 6666 of the righteous 6662 shall be x1961 upon x5921 him, and the wickedness 7564 of the wicked 7563 shall be x1961 upon x5921 him.

 18:21 But if x3588 the wicked 7563 will turn 7725 z8799 from all x4480 x3605 his sins 2403 that x834 he hath committed, 6213 z8804 and keep 8104 z8804 x853 all x3605 my statutes, 2708 and do 6213 z8804 that which is lawful 4941 and right, 6666 he shall surely y2421 z8800 live, 2421 z8799 he shall not x3808 die. 4191 z8799

 18:22 All x3605 his transgressions 6588 that x834 he hath committed, 6213 z8804 they shall not x3808 be mentioned 2142 z8735 unto him: in his righteousness 6666 that x834 he hath done 6213 z8804 he shall live. 2421 z8799

 18:23 Have I any pleasure y2654 z8799 at all 2654 z8800 that the wicked 7563 should die? 4194 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD: 3069 [and] not x3808 that he should return 7725 z8800 from his ways, 1870 x4480 and live? 2421 z8804

 18:24 ¶ But when the righteous 6662 turneth away 7725 z8800 from his righteousness, 6666 x4480 and committeth 6213 z8804 iniquity, 5766 [and] doeth 6213 z8799 according to all x3605 the abominations 8441 that x834 the wicked 7563 [man] doeth, 6213 z8804 shall he live? y2425 z8804 x2421 All x3605 his righteousness 6666 that x834 he hath done 6213 z8804 shall not x3808 be mentioned: 2142 z8735 in his trespass y4603 z8804 x4604 that x834 he hath trespassed, y4604 x4603 and in his sin 2403 that x834 he hath sinned, 2398 z8804 in them shall he die. 4191 z8799

 18:26 When a righteous 6662 [man] turneth away 7725 z8800 from his righteousness, 6666 x4480 and committeth 6213 z8804 iniquity, 5766 and dieth 4191 z8804 in x5921 them; for his iniquity 5766 that x834 he hath done 6213 z8804 shall he die. 4191 z8799

 18:27 Again, when the wicked 7563 [man] turneth away 7725 z8800 from his wickedness 7564 x4480 that x834 he hath committed, 6213 z8804 and doeth 6213 z8799 that which is lawful 4941 and right, 6666 he x1931 shall save y2421 z0 his soul y5315 alive. 2421 z8762 x853 x5315

 18:28 Because he considereth, 7200 z8799 and turneth away 7725 z8799 from all x4480 x3605 his transgressions 6588 that x834 he hath committed, 6213 z8804 he shall surely y2421 z8800 live, 2421 z8799 he shall not x3808 die. 4191 z8799

 18:29 Yet saith 559 z8804 the house 1004 of Israel, 3478 The way 1870 of the Lord 136 is not equal. 8505 z8735 x3808 O house 1004 of Israel, 3478 are not x3808 my ways 1870 equal? 8505 z8735 are not x3808 your ways 1870 unequal? 8505 z8735 x3808

 18:30 Therefore x3651 I will judge 8199 z8799 you, O house 1004 of Israel, 3478 every one 376 according to his ways, 1870 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD. 3069 Repent, 7725 z8798 and turn 7725 z8685 [yourselves] from all x4480 x3605 your transgressions; 6588 so iniquity 5771 shall not x3808 be x1961 your ruin. 4383

 18:31 ¶ Cast away 7993 z8685 from x4480 x5921 you x853 all x3605 your transgressions, 6588 whereby x834 ye have transgressed; 6586 z8804 and make 6213 z8798 you a new 2319 heart 3820 and a new 2319 spirit: 7307 for why x4100 will ye die, 4191 z8799 O house 1004 of Israel? 3478

 18:32 For x3588 I have no pleasure 2654 z8799 x3808 in the death 4194 of him that dieth, 4191 z8801 saith 5002 z8803 the Lord 136 GOD: 3069 wherefore turn 7725 z8685 [yourselves], and live 2421 z8798 ye.
