Acts 12

1 King Herod persecuteth the Christians, killeth James, and imprisoneth Peter: whom an angel delivereth upon the prayers of the Church. 20 In his pride taking to himself the honour due to God, he is stricken by an angel, and dieth miserably. 24 After his death, the Word of God prospereth.

 12:1 ¶ Now 1161 about 2596 that 1565 time 2540 Herod 2264 the x3588 king 935 stretched forth 1911 z5627 [his] hands 5495 to vex 2559 z5658 certain 5100 of 575 the x3588 church. 1577

 12:2 And 1161 he killed 337 z5627 James 2385 the x3588 brother 80 of John 2491 with the sword. 3162

 12:3 And 2532 because he saw 1492 z5631 it 3754 pleased 2076 701 z5748 the x3588 Jews, 2453 he proceeded further 4369 z5639 to take 4815 z5629 Peter 4074 also. 2532 (Then 1161 were 2258 z5713 the days 2250 of unleavened bread.) 106

 12:4 And 2532 y3739 when he x3739 had apprehended 4084 z5660 him, he put 5087 z5639 [him] in 1519 prison, 5438 and delivered 3860 z5631 [him] to four 5064 quaternions 5069 of soldiers 4757 to keep 5442 z5721 him; 846 intending 1014 z5740 after 3326 Easter 3957 to bring y321 z0 him y846 forth 321 z5629 x846 to the x3588 people. 2992

 12:5 Peter 4074 y3303 therefore 3767 was x3303 kept 5083 z5712 in 1722 prison: 5438 but 1161 prayer 4335 was 2258 z5713 made 1096 z5740 without ceasing 1618 of 5259 the x3588 church 1577 unto 4314 God 2316 for 5228 him. 846

 12:6 And 1161 when 3753 Herod 2264 would 3195 z5707 have brought y4254 z0 him y846 forth, 4254 z5721 x846 the x3588 same 1565 night 3571 Peter 4074 was 2258 z5713 sleeping 2837 z5746 between 3342 two 1417 soldiers, 4757 bound 1210 z5772 with two 1417 chains: 254 and 5037 the keepers 5441 before 4253 the x3588 door 2374 kept 5083 z5707 the x3588 prison. 5438

 12:11 And 2532 when Peter 4074 was come 1096 z5637 to 1722 himself, 1438 he said, 2036 z5627 Now 3568 I know 1492 z5758 of a surety, 230 that 3754 the Lord 2962 hath sent 1821 z5656 his y846 x848 angel, 32 and 2532 hath delivered 1807 z5639 me 3165 out of 1537 the hand 5495 of Herod, 2264 and 2532 [from] all 3956 the x3588 expectation 4329 of the x3588 people 2992 of the x3588 Jews. 2453

 12:12 And 5037 when he had considered 4894 z5631 [the thing], he came 2064 z5627 to 1909 the x3588 house 3614 of Mary 3137 the x3588 mother 3384 of John, 2491 whose surname x1941 was y1941 z5746 Mark; 3138 where 3757 many 2425 were 2258 z5713 gathered together 4867 z5772 x2532 praying. 4336 y2532 z5740

 12:13 And 1161 as Peter 4074 knocked x2925 at y2925 z5660 the x3588 door 2374 of the x3588 gate, 4440 a damsel 3814 came 4334 z5627 to hearken, 5219 z5658 named 3686 Rhoda. 4498

 12:14 And 2532 when she knew 1921 z5631 Peter's 4074 voice, 5456 she opened 455 z5656 not 3756 the x3588 gate 4440 for 575 gladness, 5479 but 1161 ran in, 1532 z5631 and told x518 how y518 z5656 Peter 4074 stood 2476 z5760 before 4253 the x3588 gate. 4440

 12:21 And 1161 upon a set 5002 day 2250 Herod, 2264 arrayed 1746 z5671 in royal 937 apparel, 2066 x2532 sat 2523 z5660 upon 1909 his throne, 968 and y2532 made an oration 1215 z5707 unto 4314 them. 846

 12:22 And 1161 the x3588 people 1218 gave a shout, 2019 z5707 [saying, It is] the voice 5456 of a god, 2316 and 2532 not 3756 of a man. 444

 12:23 And 1161 immediately 3916 the angel 32 of the Lord 2962 smote 3960 z5656 him, 846 because 473 3739 he gave 1325 z5656 not 3756 God 2316 the x3588 glory: 1391 and 2532 he was 1096 z5637 eaten of worms, 4662 and gave up the ghost. 1634 z5656
