Ruth 1

1 Elimelech driven by famine into Moab, dieth there. 4 Mahlon and Chilion, having married wives of Moab, die also. 6 Naomi returning homeward, 8 dissuadeth her two daughters in law from going with her. 14 Orpah leaveth her, but Ruth with great constancy accompanieth her. 19 They two come to Beth-lehem, where they are gladly received.

 1:1 ¶ Nowe it came to passe x1961 in the dayes 3117 when ye Iudges 8199 z8802 ruled, 8199 z8800 that there was x1961 a famine 7458 in the land: 776 and a certaine man 376 of Bethlehem Iudah, 1035 3063 x4480 went y3212 z8799 x1980 to soiourne 1481 z8800 in the countrey 7704 of Moab, 4124 he, x1931 and his wife, 802 and his two 8147 sonnes. 1121

 1:2 And the name 8034 of the man 376 [was] Elimelech, 458 and the name 8034 of his wife, 802 Naomi, 5281 and the name 8034 of his two 8147 sonnes, 1121 Mahlon, 4248 and Chilion, 3630 Ephrathites 673 of Bethlehem Iudah: 1035 3063 x4480 and they came 935 z8799 into the countrey 7704 of Moab, 4124 and continued x1961 there. x8033

 1:3 And Elimelech 458 Naomies 5281 husband 376 died, 4191 z8799 and shee x1931 was left, 7604 z8735 and her two 8147 sonnes; 1121

 1:4 And they tooke 5375 z8799 them wiues 802 of the women y802 of Moab: 4125 the name 8034 of the one 259 [was] Orpah, 6204 and the name 8034 of the other 8145 Ruth: 7327 and they dwelled 3427 z8799 there x8033 about ten 6235 yeeres. 8141

 1:5 And Mahlon 4248 and Chilion 3630 died 4191 z8799 also x1571 both 8147 of them, and the woman 802 was left 7604 z8735 of her two y8147 sonnes, 3206 x4480 x8147 and her husband. 376 x4480

 1:9 The LORD 3068 graunt 5414 z8799 you, that you may finde 4672 z8798 rest 4496 each 802 [of you] in the house 1004 of her husband. 376 Then she kissed 5401 z8799 them, and they lift vp 5375 z8799 their voyce 6963 and wept. 1058 z8799

 1:10 And they said 559 z8799 vnto her, Surely x3588 wee will returne 7725 z8799 with x854 thee, vnto thy people. 5971

 1:11 And Naomi 5281 said, 559 z8799 Turne againe, 7725 z8798 my daughters: 1323 why x4100 will you goe y3212 z8799 x1980 with x5973 mee? Are there yet x5750 any moe sonnes 1121 in my wombe, 4578 that they may be x1961 your husbands? y582 x376

 1:12 Turne againe, 7725 z8798 my daughters, 1323 go y3212 z8798 x1980 [your way], for x3588 I am too old 2204 z8804 to haue x4480 x1961 an husband: 376 if x3588 I should say, 559 z8804 I haue 3426 hope, 8615 if I should haue x1961 a husband 376 also x1571 to night, 3915 and should also x1571 beare 3205 z8804 sonnes: 1121

 1:13 Would ye tary 7663 z8762 for them y3860 x2004 till x5704 x834 they were growen? 1431 z8799 would ye stay 5702 z8735 for them y3860 x2004 from hauing x1961 husbands? 376 nay x408 my daughters: 1323 for x3588 it grieueth 4843 z8804 me much 3966 for x4480 your sakes, that x3588 the hand 3027 of the LORD 3068 is gone out 3318 z8804 against me.

 1:14 And they lift vp 5375 z8799 their voyce, 6963 and wept x1058 againe: y1058 z8799 x5750 and Orpah 6204 kissed 5401 z8799 her mother in law, 2545 but Ruth 7327 claue 1692 z8804 vnto her.

 1:15 And she said, 559 z8799 Behold, x2009 thy sister in law 2994 is gone backe 7725 z8804 vnto x413 her people, 5971 and vnto x413 her gods: 430 returne 7725 z8798 thou after 310 thy sister in law. 2994

 1:16 And Ruth 7327 said, 559 z8799 Intreate 6293 z8799 mee not x408 to leaue 5800 z8800 thee, [or] to returne 7725 z8800 from following after 310 x4480 thee: for x3588 whither x413 x834 thou goest, y3212 z8799 x1980 I will goe; y3212 z8799 x1980 and where x834 thou lodgest, 3885 z8799 I will lodge: 3885 z8799 thy people 5971 shall be my people, 5971 and thy God 430 my God: 430

 1:17 Where x834 thou diest, 4191 z8799 wil I die, 4191 z8799 and there x8033 will I bee buried: 6912 z8735 the LORD 3068 doe 6213 z8799 so x3541 to me, and more 3254 z8686 also, x3541 if [ought] but x3588 death 4194 part 6504 z8686 thee x996 and me. x996

 1:18 When shee sawe 7200 z8799 that x3588 shee x1931 was stedfastly minded 553 z8693 to goe y3212 z8800 x1980 with x854 her, then shee left 2308 z8799 speaking 1696 z8763 vnto x413 her.

 1:19 ¶ So they two 8147 went y3212 z8799 x1980 vntill x5704 they came 935 z8800 to Bethlehem: 1035 And it came to passe x1961 when they were come 935 z8800 to Bethlehem, 1035 that all x3605 the citie 5892 was mooued 1949 z8735 about x5921 them, and they said, 559 z8799 Is this x2063 Naomi? 5281

 1:20 And she said 559 z8799 vnto x413 them, Call 7121 z8799 me not x408 Naomi; 5281 call 7121 z8798 mee Mara: 4755 for x3588 the Almightie 7706 hath dealt very y3966 bitterly 4843 z8689 x3966 with me.

 1:21 I x589 went out 1980 z8804 full, 4392 and the LORD 3068 hath bought me home againe 7725 z8689 emptie: 7387 Why x4100 then call 7121 z8799 ye me Naomi, 5281 seeing the LORD 3068 hath testified 6030 z8804 against me, and the Almighty 7706 hath afflicted 7489 z8689 me?

 1:22 So Naomi 5281 returned, 7725 z8799 and Ruth 7327 the Moabitesse 4125 her daughter in law 3618 with her, x5973 which returned 7725 z8804 out of the countrey 7704 x4480 of Moab: 4124 and they x1992 came 935 z8804 to Bethlehem, 1035 in the beginning 8462 of barley 8184 haruest. 7105
