Zechariah 8

1 The restoration of Jerusalem. 9 They are encouraged to the building by God's favour to them. 16 Good works are required of them. 18 Joy and enlargement are promised.

 8:1 ¶ Again the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 came x1961 [to me], saying, 559 z8800

 8:2 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts; 6635 I was jealous 7065 z8765 for Zion 6726 with great 1419 jealousy, 7068 and I was jealous 7065 z8765 for her with great 1419 fury. 2534

 8:3 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD; 3068 I am returned 7725 z8804 unto x413 Zion, 6726 and will dwell 7931 z8804 in the midst 8432 of Jerusalem: 3389 and Jerusalem 3389 shall be called 7121 z8738 a city 5892 of truth; 571 and the mountain 2022 of the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 the holy 6944 mountain. 2022

 8:4 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts; 6635 There shall yet x5750 old men 2205 and old women 2205 dwell 3427 z8799 in the streets 7339 of Jerusalem, 3389 and every man 376 with his staff 4938 in his hand 3027 for very 7230 x4480 age. 3117

 8:5 And the streets 7339 of the city 5892 shall be full 4390 z8735 of boys 3206 and girls 3207 playing 7832 z8764 in the streets 7339 thereof.

 8:6 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts; 6635 If x3588 it be marvellous 6381 z8735 in the eyes 5869 of the remnant 7611 of this x2088 people 5971 in these x1992 days, 3117 should it also x1571 be marvellous 6381 z8735 in mine eyes? 5869 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD 3068 of hosts. 6635

 8:7 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts; 6635 Behold, x2009 I will save 3467 z8688 x853 my people 5971 from the east 4217 country, 776 x4480 and from the west 3996 8121 country; 776 x4480

 8:8 And I will bring 935 z8689 them, and they shall dwell 7931 z8804 in the midst 8432 of Jerusalem: 3389 and they shall be x1961 my people, 5971 and I x589 will be x1961 their God, 430 in truth 571 and in righteousness. 6666

 8:9 ¶ Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts; 6635 Let your hands 3027 be strong, 2388 z8799 ye that hear 8085 z8802 in these x428 days 3117 x853 these x428 words 1697 by the mouth 6310 x4480 of the prophets, 5030 which x834 [were] in the day 3117 [that] the foundation y3245 z0 of the house 1004 of the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 was laid, 3245 z8795 that the temple 1964 might be built. 1129 z8736

 8:10 For x3588 before 6440 these x1992 days 3117 there was 1961 z8738 no x3808 hire 7939 for man, 120 nor x369 any hire 7939 for beast; 929 neither x369 [was there any] peace 7965 to him that went out 3318 z8802 or came in 935 z8802 because of x4480 the affliction: 6862 for I set 7971 z8762 x853 all x3605 men 120 every one 376 against his neighbour. 7453

 8:11 But now x6258 I x589 [will] not x3808 [be] unto the residue 7611 of this x2088 people 5971 as in the former 7223 days, 3117 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD 3068 of hosts. 6635

 8:12 For x3588 the seed 2233 [shall be] prosperous; 7965 the vine 1612 shall give 5414 z8799 her fruit, 6529 and the ground 776 shall give 5414 z8799 x853 her increase, 2981 and the heavens 8064 shall give 5414 z8799 their dew; 2919 and I will cause x853 the remnant 7611 of this x2088 people 5971 to possess 5157 z8689 x853 all x3605 these x428 [things].

 8:13 And it shall come to pass, x1961 [that] as x834 ye were x1961 a curse 7045 among the heathen, 1471 O house 1004 of Judah, 3063 and house 1004 of Israel; 3478 so x3651 will I save 3467 z8686 you, and ye shall be x1961 a blessing: 1293 fear 3372 z8799 not, x408 [but] let your hands 3027 be strong. 2388 z8799

 8:14 For x3588 thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts; 6635 As x834 I thought 2161 z8804 to punish 7489 z8687 you, when your fathers 1 provoked me to wrath, 7107 z8687 x853 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 and I repented 5162 z8738 not: x3808

 8:15 So x3651 again 7725 z8804 have I thought 2161 z8804 in these x428 days 3117 to do well 3190 z8687 unto x853 Jerusalem 3389 and to the house 1004 of Judah: 3063 fear 3372 z8799 ye not. x408

 8:16 ¶ These x428 [are] the things 1697 that x834 ye shall do; 6213 z8799 Speak 1696 z8761 ye every man 376 the truth 571 to x854 his neighbour; 7453 execute 8199 z8798 the judgment 4941 of truth 571 and peace 7965 in your gates: 8179

 8:17 And let none 376 x408 of you imagine 2803 z8799 x853 evil 7451 in your hearts 3824 against his neighbour; 7453 and love 157 z8799 no x408 false 8267 oath: 7621 for x3588 x853 all x3605 these x428 [are things] that x834 I hate, 8130 z8804 saith 5002 z8803 the LORD. 3068

 8:18 ¶ And the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 came x1961 unto x413 me, saying, 559 z8800

 8:19 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts; 6635 The fast 6685 of the fourth 7243 [month], and the fast 6685 of the fifth, 2549 and the fast 6685 of the seventh, 7637 and the fast 6685 of the tenth, 6224 shall be x1961 to the house 1004 of Judah 3063 joy 8342 and gladness, 8057 and cheerful 2896 feasts; 4150 therefore love 157 z8798 the truth 571 and peace. 7965

 8:20 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts; 6635 [It shall] yet x5750 [come to pass], that x834 there shall come 935 z8799 people, 5971 and the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of many 7227 cities: 5892

 8:21 And the inhabitants 3427 z8802 of one 259 [city] shall go 1980 z8804 to x413 another, 259 saying, 559 z8800 Let us go y3212 z8799 speedily 1980 z8800 to pray 2470 z8763 x853 before 6440 the LORD, 3068 and to seek 1245 z8763 x853 the LORD 3068 of hosts: 6635 I x589 will go y3212 z8799 x1980 also. x1571

 8:22 Yea, many 7227 people 5971 and strong 6099 nations 1471 shall come 935 z8804 to seek 1245 z8763 x853 the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 in Jerusalem, 3389 and to pray 2470 z8763 x853 before 6440 the LORD. 3068

 8:23 Thus x3541 saith 559 z8804 the LORD 3068 of hosts; 6635 In those x1992 days 3117 [it shall come to pass], that x834 ten 6235 men y582 x376 shall take hold 2388 z8686 out of all x4480 x3605 languages 3956 of the nations, 1471 even shall take hold 2388 z8689 of the skirt 3671 of him x376 that is a Jew, 3064 y376 saying, 559 z8800 We will go y3212 z8799 x1980 with x5973 you: for x3588 we have heard 8085 z8804 [that] God 430 [is] with x5973 you.
