1 Kings 5

1 Hiram, sending to congratulate Solomon, is certified of his purpose to build the Temple, and desired to furnish him with timber thereto. 7 Hiram, blessing God for Solomon, and requesting food for his family, furnisheth him with trees. 13 The number of Solomon's workmen and labourers.

 5:1 ¶ And Hiram 2438 king 4428 of Tyre 6865 sent 7971 z8799 x853 his servants 5650 unto x413 Solomon; 8010 for x3588 he had heard 8085 z8804 that x3588 they had anointed 4886 z8804 him king 4428 in the room x8478 of his father: 1 for x3588 Hiram 2438 was x1961 ever 3117 x3605 a lover 157 z8802 of David. 1732

 5:2 And Solomon 8010 sent 7971 z8799 to x413 Hiram, 2438 saying, 559 z8800

 5:3 Thou x859 knowest 3045 z8804 how that x3588 x853 David 1732 my father 1 could 3201 z8804 not x3808 build 1129 z8800 an house 1004 unto the name 8034 of the LORD 3068 his God 430 for 6440 x4480 the wars 4421 which x834 were about him on every side, 5437 z8804 until x5704 the LORD 3068 put 5414 z8800 them under x8478 the soles 3709 of his feet. 7272

 5:4 But now x6258 the LORD 3068 my God 430 hath given me rest 5117 z8689 on every side, 5439 x4480 [so that there is] neither x369 adversary 7854 nor x369 evil 7451 occurrent. 6294

 5:5 And, behold, x2009 I purpose 559 z8802 to build 1129 z8800 an house 1004 unto the name 8034 of the LORD 3068 my God, 430 as x834 the LORD 3068 spake 1696 z8765 unto x413 David 1732 my father, 1 saying, 559 z8800 Thy son, 1121 whom x834 I will set 5414 z8799 upon x5921 thy throne 3678 in thy room, x8478 he x1931 shall build 1129 z8799 an house 1004 unto my name. 8034

 5:6 Now x6258 therefore command 6680 z8761 thou that they hew 3772 z8799 me cedar trees 730 out of x4480 Lebanon; 3844 and my servants 5650 shall be x1961 with x5973 thy servants: 5650 and unto thee will I give 5414 z8799 hire 7939 for thy servants 5650 according to all x3605 that x834 thou shalt appoint: 559 z8799 for x3588 thou x859 knowest 3045 z8804 that x3588 [there is] not x369 among us any 376 that can skill 3045 z8802 to hew 3772 z8800 timber 6086 like unto the Sidonians. 6722

 5:7 ¶ And it came to pass, x1961 when Hiram 2438 heard 8085 z8800 x853 the words 1697 of Solomon, 8010 that he rejoiced 8055 z8799 greatly, 3966 and said, 559 z8799 Blessed 1288 z8803 [be] the LORD 3068 this day, 3117 which x834 hath given 5414 z8804 unto David 1732 a wise 2450 son 1121 over x5921 this x2088 great 7227 people. 5971

 5:8 And Hiram 2438 sent 7971 z8799 to x413 Solomon, 8010 saying, 559 z8800 I have considered 8085 z8804 x853 the things which x834 thou sentest 7971 z8804 to x413 me for: [and] I x589 will do 6213 z8799 x853 all x3605 thy desire 2656 concerning timber 6086 of cedar, 730 and concerning timber 6086 of fir. 1265

 5:9 My servants 5650 shall bring [them] down 3381 z8686 from x4480 Lebanon 3844 unto the sea: 3220 and I x589 will convey 7760 z8799 them by sea 3220 in floats 1702 unto x5704 the place 4725 that x834 thou shalt appoint 7971 z8799 x413 me, and will cause them to be discharged 5310 z8765 there, x8033 and thou x859 shalt receive 5375 z8799 [them]: and thou x859 shalt accomplish 6213 z8799 x853 my desire, 2656 in giving 5414 z8800 food 3899 for my household. 1004

 5:10 So Hiram 2438 gave 5414 z8802 Solomon 8010 cedar 730 trees 6086 and fir 1265 trees 6086 [according to] all x3605 his desire. 2656

 5:11 And Solomon 8010 gave 5414 z8804 Hiram 2438 twenty 6242 thousand 505 measures 3734 of wheat 2406 [for] food 4361 to his household, 1004 and twenty 6242 measures 3734 of pure 3795 oil: 8081 thus x3541 gave 5414 z8799 Solomon 8010 to Hiram 2438 year 8141 by year. 8141

 5:12 And the LORD 3068 gave 5414 z8804 Solomon 8010 wisdom, 2451 as x834 he promised 1696 z8765 him: and there was x1961 peace 7965 between x996 Hiram 2438 and Solomon; 8010 and they two 8147 z0 made y3772 z8799 a league y1285 together. y8147 x3772 x1285

 5:13 ¶ And king 4428 Solomon 8010 raised 5927 z8686 a levy 4522 out of all x4480 x3605 Israel; 3478 and the levy 4522 was x1961 thirty 7970 thousand 505 men. 376

 5:14 And he sent 7971 z8799 them to Lebanon, 3844 ten 6235 thousand 505 a month 2320 by courses: 2487 a month 2320 they were x1961 in Lebanon, 3844 [and] two 8147 months 2320 at home: 1004 and Adoniram 141 [was] over x5921 the levy. 4522

 5:15 And Solomon 8010 had x1961 threescore and ten 7657 thousand 505 that bare 5375 z8802 burdens, 5449 and fourscore 8084 thousand 505 hewers 2672 z8802 in the mountains; 2022

 5:16 Beside the chief 8269 x905 x4480 of Solomon's 8010 officers 5324 z8737 which x834 [were] over x5921 the work, 4399 three 7969 thousand 505 and three 7969 hundred, 3967 which ruled 7287 z8802 over the people 5971 that wrought 6213 z8802 in the work. 4399

 5:17 And the king 4428 commanded, 6680 z8762 and they brought 5265 z8686 great 1419 stones, 68 costly 3368 stones, 68 [and] hewed 1496 stones, 68 to lay the foundation 3245 z8763 of the house. 1004

 5:18 And Solomon's 8010 builders 1129 z8802 and Hiram's 2438 builders 1129 z8802 did hew 6458 z8799 [them], and the stonesquarers: 1382 so they prepared 3559 z8686 timber 6086 and stones 68 to build 1129 z8800 the house. 1004
