1 Kings 19

1 Elijah, threatened by Jezebel, fleeth to Beer-sheba. 4 In the wilderness, being weary of his life, he is comforted by an angel. 9 At Horeb God appeareth unto him, sending him to anoint Hazael, Jehu, and Elisha. 19 Elisha, taking leave of his friends, followeth Elijah.

 19:1 ¶ And Ahab 256 told 5046 z8686 Jezebel 348 x853 all x3605 that x834 Elijah 452 had done, 6213 z8804 and withal x3605 how x834 he had slain 2026 z8804 x853 all x3605 the prophets 5030 with the sword. 2719

 19:2 Then Jezebel 348 sent 7971 z8799 a messenger 4397 unto x413 Elijah, 452 saying, 559 z8800 So x3541 let the gods 430 do 6213 z8799 [to me], and more 3254 z8686 also, x3541 if x3588 I make 7760 z8799 not x853 thy life 5315 as the life 5315 of one 259 of x4480 them by to morrow 4279 about this time. 6256

 19:3 And when he saw 7200 z8799 [that], he arose, 6965 z8799 and went y3212 z8799 x1980 for x413 his life, 5315 and came 935 z8799 to Beersheba, 884 which x834 [belongeth] to Judah, 3063 and left y3240 z8686 x5117 x853 his servant 5288 there. x8033

 19:4 ¶ But he himself x1931 went 1980 z8804 a day's 3117 journey 1870 into the wilderness, 4057 and came 935 z8799 and sat down 3427 z8799 under x8478 a 259 juniper tree: 7574 and he requested 7592 z8799 x853 for himself 5315 that he might die; 4191 z8800 and said, 559 z8799 It is enough; 7227 now, x6258 O LORD, 3068 take away 3947 z8798 my life; 5315 for x3588 I x595 [am] not x3808 better 2896 than my fathers. 1 x4480

 19:5 And as he lay 7901 z8799 and slept 3462 z8799 under x8478 a 259 juniper tree, 7574 behold, x2009 then x2088 an angel 4397 touched 5060 z8802 him, and said 559 z8799 unto him, Arise 6965 z8798 [and] eat. 398 z8798

 19:6 And he looked, 5027 z8686 and, behold, x2009 [there was] a cake 5692 baken on the coals, 7529 and a cruse 6835 of water 4325 at his head. 4763 And he did eat 398 z8799 and drink, 8354 z8799 and laid him down 7901 z8799 again. 7725 z8799

 19:7 And the angel 4397 of the LORD 3068 came again 7725 z8799 the second time, 8145 and touched 5060 z8799 him, and said, 559 z8799 Arise 6965 z8798 [and] eat; 398 z8798 because x3588 the journey 1870 [is] too great 7227 for x4480 thee.

 19:8 And he arose, 6965 z8799 and did eat 398 z8799 and drink, 8354 z8799 and went y3212 z8799 x1980 in the strength 3581 of that x1931 meat 396 forty 705 days 3117 and forty 705 nights 3915 unto x5704 Horeb 2722 the mount 2022 of God. 430

 19:9 ¶ And he came 935 z8799 thither x8033 unto x413 a cave, 4631 and lodged 3885 z8799 there; x8033 and, behold, x2009 the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 [came] to x413 him, and he said 559 z8799 unto him, What x4100 doest thou here, x6311 Elijah? 452

 19:10 And he said, 559 z8799 I have been very y7065 z8763 jealous 7065 z8765 for the LORD 3068 God 430 of hosts: 6635 for x3588 the children 1121 of Israel 3478 have forsaken 5800 z8804 thy covenant, 1285 thrown down 2040 z8804 x853 thine altars, 4196 and slain 2026 z8804 thy prophets 5030 with the sword; 2719 and I, x589 [even] I only, x905 am left; 3498 z8735 and they seek 1245 z8762 x853 my life, 5315 to take it away. 3947 z8800

 19:11 And he said, 559 z8799 Go forth, 3318 z8798 and stand 5975 z8804 upon the mount 2022 before 6440 the LORD. 3068 And, behold, x2009 the LORD 3068 passed by, 5674 z8802 and a great 1419 and strong 2389 wind 7307 rent 6561 z8764 the mountains, 2022 and brake in pieces 7665 z8764 the rocks 5553 before 6440 the LORD; 3068 [but] the LORD 3068 [was] not x3808 in the wind: 7307 and after 310 the wind 7307 an earthquake; 7494 [but] the LORD 3068 [was] not x3808 in the earthquake: 7494

 19:12 And after 310 the earthquake 7494 a fire; 784 [but] the LORD 3068 [was] not x3808 in the fire: 784 and after 310 the fire 784 a still 1827 small 1851 voice. 6963

 19:13 And it was x1961 [so], when Elijah 452 heard 8085 z8800 [it], that he wrapped 3874 z8686 his face 6440 in his mantle, 155 and went out, 3318 z8799 and stood 5975 z8799 in the entering in 6607 of the cave. 4631 And, behold, x2009 [there came] a voice 6963 unto x413 him, and said, 559 z8799 What x4100 doest thou here, x6311 Elijah? 452

 19:14 And he said, 559 z8799 I have been very y7065 z8763 jealous 7065 z8765 for the LORD 3068 God 430 of hosts: 6635 because x3588 the children 1121 of Israel 3478 have forsaken 5800 z8804 thy covenant, 1285 thrown down 2040 z8804 x853 thine altars, 4196 and slain 2026 z8804 thy prophets 5030 with the sword; 2719 and I, x589 [even] I only, x905 am left; 3498 z8735 and they seek 1245 z8762 x853 my life, 5315 to take it away. 3947 z8800

 19:15 And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 unto x413 him, Go, y3212 z8798 x1980 return 7725 z8798 on thy way 1870 to the wilderness 4057 of Damascus: 1834 and when thou comest, 935 z8804 anoint 4886 z8804 x853 Hazael 2371 [to be] king 4428 over x5921 Syria: 758

 19:16 And Jehu 3058 the son 1121 of Nimshi 5250 shalt thou anoint 4886 z8799 [to be] king 4428 over x5921 Israel: 3478 and Elisha 477 the son 1121 of Shaphat 8202 of Abelmeholah 65 x4480 shalt thou anoint 4886 z8799 [to be] prophet 5030 in thy room. x8478

 19:17 And it shall come to pass, x1961 [that] him that escapeth 4422 z8737 the sword 2719 x4480 of Hazael 2371 shall Jehu 3058 slay: 4191 z8686 and him that escapeth 4422 z8737 from the sword 2719 x4480 of Jehu 3058 shall Elisha 477 slay. 4191 z8686

 19:18 Yet I have left 7604 z8689 [me] seven 7651 thousand 505 in Israel, 3478 all x3605 the knees 1290 which x834 have not x3808 bowed 3766 z8804 unto Baal, 1168 and every x3605 mouth 6310 which x834 hath not x3808 kissed 5401 z8804 him.

 19:19 ¶ So he departed y3212 z8799 x1980 thence, x4480 x8033 and found 4672 z8799 x853 Elisha 477 the son 1121 of Shaphat, 8202 who x1931 [was] plowing 2790 z8802 [with] twelve 8147 6240 yoke 6776 [of oxen] before 6440 him, and he x1931 with the twelfth: 8147 6240 and Elijah 452 passed 5674 z8799 by x413 him, and cast 7993 z8686 his mantle 155 upon x413 him.

 19:20 And he left 5800 z8799 x853 the oxen, 1241 and ran 7323 z8799 after 310 Elijah, 452 and said, 559 z8799 Let me, I pray thee, x4994 kiss 5401 z8799 my father 1 and my mother, 517 and [then] I will follow 310 y3212 z8799 x1980 thee. And he said 559 z8799 unto him, Go x1980 back y3212 z8798 again: 7725 z8798 for x3588 what x4100 have I done 6213 z8804 to thee?

 19:21 And he returned back 7725 z8799 from x4480 x310 him, y310 and took 3947 z8799 x853 a yoke 6776 of oxen, 1241 and slew 2076 z8799 them, and boiled 1310 z8765 their flesh 1320 with the instruments 3627 of the oxen, 1241 and gave 5414 z8799 unto the people, 5971 and they did eat. 398 z8799 Then he arose, 6965 z8799 and went y3212 z8799 x1980 after 310 Elijah, 452 and ministered 8334 z8762 unto him.
