Daniel 5

1 Belshazzar's impious feast. 5 A handwriting, unknown to the magicians, troubleth the king. 10 At the commendation of the queen, Daniel is brought. 17 He, reproving the king of pride and idolatry, 25 readeth and interpreteth the writing. 30 The monarchy is translated to the Medes.

 5:1 ¶ Belshazzar 1113 the King 4430 made 5648 z8754 a great 7229 feast 3900 to a thousand 506 of his Lords, 7261 and dranke 8355 z8750 wine 2562 before 6903 the thousand. 506

 5:2 Belshazzar, 1113 whiles he tasted 2942 the wine, 2562 commaunded 560 z8754 to bring 858 z8682 the golden 1722 and siluer 3702 vessels, 3984 which x1768 his father 2 Nebuchad-nezzar 5020 had taken y5312 z8684 out x5312 of 4481 the temple 1965 which x1768 [was] in Ierusalem, 3390 that the king 4430 and his princes, 7261 his wiues, 7695 and his concubines 3904 might drinke 8355 z8748 therein.

 5:3 Then 116 they brought 858 z8684 the golden 1722 vessels 3984 that x1768 were taken y5312 z8684 out x5312 of 4481 the temple 1965 of x1768 the house 1005 of God, 426 which x1768 [was] at Ierusalem, 3390 and the king 4430 and his princes, 7261 his wiues, 7695 and his concubines 3904 dranke 8355 z8754 in them.

 5:4 They drunke 8355 z8754 wine, 2562 and praised 7624 z8745 the gods 426 of gold 1722 and of siluer, 3702 of brasse, 5174 of yron, 6523 of wood, 636 and of stone. 69

 5:5 ¶ In the same houre 8160 came forth 5312 z8754 fingers 677 of x1768 a mans 606 hand, 3028 and wrote 3790 z8751 ouer against 6903 the candlesticke 5043 vpon 5922 the plaister 1528 of x1768 the wall 3797 of x1768 the Kings 4430 palace, 1965 and the king 4430 saw 2370 z8751 the part 6447 of the hand 3028 that x1768 wrote. 3790 z8751

 5:6 Then 116 the kings 4430 countenance 2122 was changed, 8133 z8754 and his thoughts 7476 troubled 927 z8792 him, so that the ioints 7001 of his loines 2783 were loosed, 8271 z8723 and his knees 755 smote 5368 z8750 one 1668 against another. 1668

 5:7 The king 4430 cried 7123 z8748 aloud 2429 to bring y5954 z8682 in x5924 the Astrologers, 826 the Caldeans, 3779 and the soothsayers: 1505 z8750 [and] the king 4430 spake 6032 z8750 and said 560 z8750 to the wise 2445 men of Babylon, 895 Whosoeuer 606 3606 x1768 shall reade 7123 z8751 this 1836 writing, 3792 and shewe 2324 z8741 me the interpretation 6591 thereof, shall bee clothed 3848 z8748 with scarlet, 711 and [haue] a chaine 2002 of x1768 gold 1722 about 5922 his necke, 6676 and shall be the third y8523 ruler 7981 z8748 x8523 in the kingdome. 4437

 5:8 Then 116 came y5954 z8750 in x5954 all 3606 the kings 4430 wise 2445 men, but they could 3546 z8751 not 3809 reade 7123 z8749 the writing, 3792 nor make knowen 3046 z8682 to the king 4430 the interpretation 6591 thereof.

 5:9 Then 116 was King 4430 Belshazzar 1113 greatly 7690 troubled, 927 z8727 and his countenance 2122 was changed 8133 z8750 in x5922 him, y5922 and his lordes 7261 were astonied. 7672 z8723

 5:10 ¶ [Now] the queene, 4433 by reason y6903 of x6903 the wordes 4406 of the king 4430 and his lords, 7261 came 5954 z8754 into the banquet 4961 house, 1005 [and] the queene 4433 spake 6032 z8754 and said, 560 z8754 O king, 4430 liue 2418 z8747 for euer: 5957 let not 409 thy thoughts 7476 trouble 927 z8792 thee, nor x409 let thy countenance 2122 be changed. 8133 z8721

 5:11 There is 383 a man 1400 in thy kingdom, 4437 in whome x1768 [is] the spirit 7308 of the holy 6922 gods, 426 and in the dayes 3118 of thy father 2 light 5094 and vnderstanding 7924 and wisedome 2452 like the wisedome 2452 of the gods, 426 was found 7912 z8728 in him: whom the king 4430 Nebuchad-nezzar 5020 thy father, 2 the king, 4430 [I say], thy father 2 made 6966 z8684 master 7229 of the magicians, 2749 astrologers, 826 Caldeans, 3779 [and] soothsayers, 1505 z8750

 5:12 Forasmuch as 6903 3606 x1768 an excellent 3493 spirit 7308 and knowledge 4486 and vnderstanding, 7924 interpreting y6590 z8743 x6591 of dreames, 2493 and shewing 263 of hard sentences, 280 & dissoluing 8271 z8743 of doubts 7001 were found 7912 z8728 in the same Daniel, 1841 whom x1768 the king 4430 named 7761 8036 z8754 Belteshazzar: 1096 now 3705 let Daniel 1841 be called, 7123 z8729 and he will shewe 2324 z8681 the interpretation. 6591

 5:13 Then 116 was Daniel 1841 brought in 5954 z8717 before 6925 the king, 4430 [and] the king 4430 spake 6032 z8750 and said 560 z8750 vnto Daniel, 1841 [Art] thou 607 that x1932 Daniel, 1841 which x1768 [art] of 4481 the children 1123 of the captiuity 1547 of x1768 Iudah, 3061 whom x1768 the king 4430 my father 2 brought y858 z8684 out x858 of 4481 Iewrie? 3061

 5:14 I haue euen heard 8086 z8754 of x5922 thee, that x1768 the spirit 7308 of the gods 426 [is] in thee, y5922 and [that] light, 5094 and vnderstanding, 7924 and excellent 3493 wisedome 2452 is found 7912 z8728 in thee.

 5:15 And now 3705 the wise 2445 men, the astrologers 826 haue bene brought y5954 z8717 in x5954 before 6925 me, that x1768 they should reade 7123 z8748 this 1836 writing, 3792 and make knowen 3046 z8682 vnto me the interpretation 6591 thereof: but they could 3546 z8751 not 3809 shewe 2324 z8682 the interpretation 6591 of the thing. 4406

 5:16 And I 576 haue heard 8086 z8754 of x5922 thee, y5922 that x1768 thou canst 3202 z8748 make 6590 z8749 interpretations, 6591 and dissolue 8271 z8749 doubts: 7001 now 3705 if 2006 thou canst 3202 z8748 read 7123 z8749 the writing, 3792 and make knowen 3046 z8682 to mee the interpretation 6591 thereof, thou shalt be clothed 3848 z8748 with scarlet, 711 & [haue] a chaine 2002 of x1768 gold 1722 about 5922 thy necke, 6676 and shalt bee the third y8531 ruler 7981 z8748 x8531 in the kingdome. 4437

 5:17 ¶ Then 116 Daniel 1841 answered 6032 z8750 and said 560 z8750 before 6925 the king, 4430 Let thy gifts 4978 be 1934 z8748 to thy selfe, and giue 3052 z8747 thy rewards 5023 to an other, 321 yet 1297 I will reade 7123 z8748 the writing 3792 vnto the king, 4430 and make knowen 3046 z8681 to him the interpretation. 6591

 5:18 O thou 607 king, 4430 the most high 5943 God 426 gaue 3052 z8754 Nebuchad-nezzar 5020 thy father 2 a kingdome, 4437 and maiestie, 7238 and glory, 3367 and honour. 1923

 5:21 And hee was driuen 2957 z8752 from 4481 the sonnes 1123 of men, 606 and his heart 3825 was made 7739 z8745 like 5974 the beasts, 2423 and his dwelling 4070 was with x5974 the wilde asses: 6167 they fed 2939 z8748 him with grasse 6211 like oxen, 8450 and his body 1655 was wet 6647 z8721 with the dew 2920 x4481 of heauen, 8065 till 5705 x1768 hee knew 3046 z8754 that x1768 the most high 5943 God 426 ruled 7990 in the kingdome 4437 of men, 606 and that hee appointeth 6966 z8681 ouer 5922 it whomsoeuer 4479 x1768 he will. 6634 z8748

 5:22 And thou 607 his sonne, 1247 O Belshazzar, 1113 hast not 3809 humbled 8214 z8684 thine heart, 3825 though 6903 x3606 x1768 thou knewest 3046 z8754 all 3606 this: 1836

 5:23 But hast lifted vp y7313 z8712 thy selfe x7313 against 5922 the Lord 4756 of heauen, 8065 and they haue brought 858 z8684 the vessels 3984 of x1768 his house 1005 before 6925 thee, and thou 607 and thy lords, 7261 thy wiues 7695 and thy concubines 3904 haue drunke 8355 z8750 wine 2562 in them, and thou hast praised 7624 z8745 the gods 426 of siluer, 3702 and golde, 1722 of brasse, 5174 yron, 6523 wood 636 and stone, 69 which x1768 see 2370 z8751 not, 3809 nor 3809 heare, 8086 z8750 nor 3809 knowe: 3046 z8751 and the God 426 in whose x1768 hande 3028 thy breath 5396 [is], and whose are all 3606 thy wayes, 735 hast thou not 3809 glorified. 1922 z8745

 5:24 Then 116 was the part 6447 of x1768 the hand 3028 sent 7972 z8750 from 4481 x6925 him, y6925 and this 1836 writing 3792 was written. 7560 z8752

 5:25 ¶ And this 1836 [is] the writing 3792 that x1768 was written, 7560 z8752 MENE, 4484 z8752 MENE, 4484 z8752 TEKEL 8625 z8752 VPHARSIN. 6537 z8751

 5:26 This 1836 is the interpretation 6591 of the thing, 4406 MENE, 4484 z8752 God 426 hath numbred 4483 z8754 thy kingdome, 4437 and finished 8000 z8684 it.

 5:27 TEKEL, 8625 z8752 thou art weighed 8625 z8760 in the balances, 3977 and art found 7912 z8728 wanting. 2627

 5:28 PERES, 6537 z8752 thy kingdome 4437 is diuided, 6537 z8752 and giuen 3052 z8753 to the Medes 4076 and Persians. 6540

 5:29 Then 116 commanded 560 z8754 Belshazzar, 1113 and they clothed 3848 z8684 Daniel 1841 with scarlet, 711 [and] put a chaine 2002 of x1768 gold 1722 about 5922 his necke, 6676 and made a Proclamation 3745 z8684 concerning 5922 him, that x1768 he should be 1934 z8748 the third 8531 ruler 7990 in the kingdome. 4437

 5:30 ¶ In that night 3916 was Belshazzar 1113 the king 4430 of the Caldeans 3779 slaine. 6992 z8752

 5:31 And Darius 1868 the Median 4077 tooke 6902 z8745 the kingdome, 4437 being about threescore 8361 and two 8648 yeere 8140 old. 1247
