1 Samuel 3

1 How the Word of the LORD was first revealed to Samuel. 11 God telleth Samuel the destruction of Eli's house. 15 Samuel, though loth, telleth Eli the vision. 19 Samuel groweth in credit.

 3:1 ¶ And the child 5288 Samuel 8050 ministered 8334 z8764 unto x853 the LORD 3068 before 6440 Eli. 5941 And the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 was x1961 precious 3368 in those x1992 days; 3117 [there was] no x369 open 6555 z8737 vision. 2377

 3:2 And it came to pass x1961 at that time, 3117 when x1931 Eli 5941 [was] laid down 7901 z8802 in his place, 4725 and his eyes 5869 began 2490 z8689 to wax dim, 3544 [that] he could 3201 z8799 not x3808 see; 7200 z8800

 3:3 And ere x2962 the lamp 5216 of God 430 went out 3518 z8799 in the temple 1964 of the LORD, 3068 where x834 x8033 the ark 727 of God 430 [was], and Samuel 8050 was laid down 7901 z8802 [to sleep];

 3:4 That the LORD 3068 called 7121 z8799 x413 Samuel: 8050 and he answered, 559 z8799 Here x2009 [am] I.

 3:5 And he ran 7323 z8799 unto x413 Eli, 5941 and said, 559 z8799 Here x2009 [am] I; y2009 for x3588 thou calledst 7121 z8804 me. And he said, 559 z8799 I called 7121 z8804 not; x3808 lie down 7901 z8798 again. 7725 z8798 And he went y3212 z8799 x1980 and lay down. 7901 z8799

 3:6 And the LORD 3068 called 7121 z8800 yet x5750 again, 3254 z8686 Samuel. 8050 And Samuel 8050 arose 6965 z8799 and went y3212 z8799 x1980 to x413 Eli, 5941 and said, 559 z8799 Here x2009 [am] I; for x3588 thou didst call 7121 z8804 me. And he answered, 559 z8799 I called 7121 z8804 not, x3808 my son; 1121 lie down 7901 z8798 again. 7725 z8798

 3:7 Now Samuel 8050 did not yet 2962 know 3045 z8804 x853 the LORD, 3068 neither was the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 yet x2962 revealed 1540 z8735 unto x413 him.

 3:8 And the LORD 3068 called 7121 z8800 Samuel 8050 again 3254 z8686 the third x7992 time. y7992 And he arose 6965 z8799 and went y3212 z8799 x1980 to x413 Eli, 5941 and said, 559 z8799 Here x2009 [am] I; for x3588 thou didst call 7121 z8804 me. And Eli 5941 perceived 995 z8799 that x3588 the LORD 3068 had called 7121 z8802 the child. 5288

 3:9 Therefore Eli 5941 said 559 z8799 unto Samuel, 8050 Go, y3212 z8798 x1980 lie down: 7901 z8798 and it shall be, x1961 if x518 he call 7121 z8799 x413 thee, that thou shalt say, 559 z8804 Speak, 1696 z8761 LORD; 3068 for x3588 thy servant 5650 heareth. 8085 z8802 So Samuel 8050 went y3212 z8799 x1980 and lay down 7901 z8799 in his place. 4725

 3:10 And the LORD 3068 came, 935 z8799 and stood, 3320 z8691 and called 7121 z8799 as at other times, 6471 Samuel, 8050 Samuel. 8050 Then Samuel 8050 answered, 559 z8799 Speak; 1696 z8761 for x3588 thy servant 5650 heareth. 8085 z8802

 3:11 ¶ And the LORD 3068 said 559 z8799 to x413 Samuel, 8050 Behold, x2009 I x595 will do 6213 z8802 a thing 1697 in Israel, 3478 at which x834 both 8147 the ears 241 of every one x3605 that heareth 8085 z8802 it shall tingle. 6750 z8799

 3:12 In that x1931 day 3117 I will perform 6965 z8686 against x413 Eli 5941 x853 all x3605 [things] which x834 I have spoken 1696 z8765 concerning 413 his house: 1004 when I begin, 2490 z8687 I will also make an end. 3615 z8763

 3:13 For I have told 5046 z8689 him that x3588 I x589 will judge 8199 z8802 x853 his house 1004 forever 5769 5704 for the iniquity 5771 which x834 he knoweth; 3045 z8804 because x3588 his sons 1121 made themselves vile, 7043 z8764 and he restrained 3543 z8765 them not. x3808

 3:14 And therefore x3651 I have sworn 7650 z8738 unto the house 1004 of Eli, 5941 that the iniquity 5771 of Eli's 5941 house 1004 shall not x518 be purged 3722 z8691 with sacrifice 2077 nor offering 4503 forever. 5769 5704

 3:15 ¶ And Samuel 8050 lay 7901 z8799 until x5704 the morning, 1242 and opened 6605 z8799 x853 the doors 1817 of the house 1004 of the LORD. 3068 And Samuel 8050 feared 3372 z8804 to show 5046 z8687 x4480 x413 Eli 5941 x853 the vision. 4759

 3:16 Then Eli 5941 called 7121 z8799 x853 Samuel, 8050 and said, 559 z8799 Samuel, 8050 my son. 1121 And he answered, 559 z8799 Here x2009 [am] I.

 3:17 And he said, 559 z8799 What x4100 [is] the thing 1697 that x834 [the LORD] hath said 1696 z8765 unto x413 thee? I pray thee x4994 hide 3582 z8762 [it] not x408 from x4480 me: God 430 do x6213 so y6213 z8799 x3541 to thee, and more x3254 also, y3254 z8686 x3541 if x518 thou hide 3582 z8762 [any] thing 1697 from x4480 me of all x4480 x3605 the things 1697 that x834 he said 1696 z8765 unto x413 thee.

 3:18 And Samuel 8050 told 5046 z8686 him x853 every x3605 whit, 1697 and hid 3582 z8765 nothing x3808 from x4480 him. And he said, 559 z8799 It x1931 [is] the LORD: 3068 let him do 6213 z8799 what seemeth 5869 him good. 2896

 3:19 ¶ And Samuel 8050 grew, 1431 z8799 and the LORD 3068 was x1961 with x5973 him, and did let none x3808 x4480 x3605 of his words 1697 fall 5307 z8689 to the ground. 776

 3:20 And all x3605 Israel 3478 from Dan 1835 x4480 even to x5704 Beer-sheba 884 knew 3045 z8799 that x3588 Samuel 8050 [was] established 539 z8737 [to be] a prophet 5030 of the LORD. 3068

 3:21 And the LORD 3068 appeared 7200 z8736 again 3254 z8686 in Shiloh: 7887 for x3588 the LORD 3068 revealed y1540 z8738 himself x1540 to x413 Samuel 8050 in Shiloh 7887 by the word 1697 of the LORD. 3068
