Habakkuk 1

1 Unto Habakkuk, complaining of the iniquity of the land, 5 is shewed the fearful vengeance by the Chaldeans. 12 He complaineth that vengeance should be executed by them who are far worse.

 1:3 Why x4100 dost thou shew 7200 z8686 me iniquity, 205 and cause [me] to behold 5027 z8686 grievance? 5999 for spoiling 7701 and violence 2555 [are] before x5048 me: and there are x1961 [that] raise up 5375 z8799 strife 7379 and contention. 4066

 1:5 ¶ Behold 7200 z8798 ye among the heathen, 1471 and regard, 5027 z8685 and wonder y8539 z8690 marvellously: 8539 z8798 for x3588 [I] will work 6466 z8802 a work 6467 in your days, 3117 [which] ye will not x3808 believe, 539 z8686 though x3588 it be told 5608 z8792 [you].

 1:6 For, x3588 lo, x2009 I raise up 6965 z8688 x853 the Chaldeans, 3778 [that] bitter 4751 and hasty 4116 z8737 nation, 1471 which shall march 1980 z8802 through the breadth 4800 of the land, 776 to possess 3423 z8800 the dwellingplaces 4908 [that are] not x3808 theirs.

 1:7 They x1931 [are] terrible 366 and dreadful: 3372 z8737 their judgment 4941 and their dignity 7613 shall proceed 3318 z8799 of x4480 themselves.

 1:8 Their horses 5483 also are swifter 7043 z8804 than the leopards, 5246 x4480 and are more fierce 2300 z8804 than the evening 6153 wolves: 2061 x4480 and their horsemen 6571 shall spread 6335 z8804 themselves, and their horsemen 6571 shall come 935 z8799 from far; 7350 x4480 they shall fly 5774 z8799 as the eagle 5404 [that] hasteth 2363 z8804 to eat. 398 z8800

 1:9 They shall come 935 z8799 all x3605 for violence: 2555 their faces 6440 shall sup up 4041 [as] the east wind, 6921 and they shall gather 622 z8799 the captivity 7628 as the sand. 2344

 1:10 And they x1931 shall scoff 7046 z8691 at the kings, 4428 and the princes 7336 z8802 shall be a scorn 4890 unto them: they x1931 shall deride 7832 z8799 every x3605 strong hold; 4013 for they shall heap 6651 z8799 dust, 6083 and take 3920 z8799 it.

 1:11 Then x227 shall [his] mind 7307 change, 2498 z8804 and he shall pass over, 5674 z8799 and offend, 816 z8804 [imputing] this 2098 his power 3581 unto his god. 433

 1:12 ¶ [Art] thou x859 not x3808 from everlasting, 6924 x4480 O LORD 3068 my God, 430 mine Holy One? 6918 we shall not x3808 die. 4191 z8799 O LORD, 3068 thou hast ordained 7760 z8804 them for judgment; 4941 and, O mighty God, 6697 thou hast established 3245 z8804 them for correction. 3198 z8687

 1:13 [Thou art] of purer 2889 eyes 5869 than to behold 7200 z8800 x4480 evil, 7451 and canst 3201 z8799 not x3808 look 5027 z8687 on x413 iniquity: 5999 wherefore x4100 lookest 5027 z8686 thou upon them that deal treacherously, 898 z8802 [and] holdest thy tongue 2790 z8686 when the wicked 7563 devoureth 1104 z8763 [the man that is] more righteous 6662 than x4480 he?

 1:14 And makest 6213 z8799 men 120 as the fishes 1709 of the sea, 3220 as the creeping things, 7431 [that have] no x3808 ruler 4910 z8802 over them?

 1:15 They take up 5927 z8689 all x3605 of them with the angle, 2443 they catch 1641 z8799 them in their net, 2764 and gather 622 z8799 them in their drag: 4365 therefore x5921 x3651 they rejoice 8055 z8799 and are glad. 1523 z8799
