Habakkuk 1

1 Unto Habakkuk, complaining of the iniquity of the land, 5 is shewed the fearful vengeance by the Chaldeans. 12 He complaineth that vengeance should be executed by them who are far worse.

 1:2 O LORD, 3068 howe long x5704 x575 shall I crie, 7768 z8765 and thou wilt not x3808 heare! 8085 z8799 [euen] cry out 2199 z8799 vnto x413 thee [of] violence, 2555 and thou wilt not x3808 saue? 3467 z8686

 1:3 Why x4100 doest thou shew 7200 z8686 me iniquity, 205 & cause me to behold 5027 z8686 grieuance? 5999 for spoiling 7701 and violence 2555 [are] before x5048 me: & there are x1961 [that] raise vp 5375 z8799 strife 7379 and contention. 4066

 1:4 Therefore x5921 x3651 the Lawe 8451 is slacked, 6313 z8799 and iudgement 4941 doeth neuer 5331 x3808 goe foorth: 3318 z8799 for x3588 the wicked 7563 doeth compasse y3803 z8688 about x3803 x853 the righteous: 6662 therfore x5921 x3651 wrong 6127 z8794 iudgement 4941 proceedeth. 3318 z8799

 1:5 ¶ Behold 7200 z8798 ye among the heathen, 1471 and regard, 5027 z8685 and wonder y8539 z8690 marueilously: 8539 z8798 for x3588 I wil worke 6466 z8802 a worke 6467 in your daies, 3117 [which] yee will not x3808 beleeue, 539 z8686 though x3588 it be tolde 5608 z8792 [you].

 1:6 For x3588 loe, x2009 I raise vp 6965 z8688 x853 the Caldeans, 3778 that bitter 4751 and hastie 4116 z8737 nation, 1471 which shall march 1980 z8802 through the breadth 4800 of the land, 776 to possesse 3423 z8800 the dwelling places 4908 [that are] not x3808 theirs.

 1:7 They x1931 are terrible 366 and dreadfull: 3372 z8737 their iudgement 4941 and their dignity 7613 shal proceed 3318 z8799 of x4480 themselues.

 1:8 Their horses 5483 also are swifter 7043 z8804 then the leopards, 5246 x4480 and are more fierce 2300 z8804 then the euening 6153 wolues: 2061 x4480 & their horsemen 6571 shall spread 6335 z8804 themselues, and their horsemen 6571 shall come 935 z8799 from farre, 7350 x4480 they shall flie 5774 z8799 as the Eagle 5404 [that] hasteth 2363 z8804 to eate. 398 z8800

 1:9 They shall come 935 z8799 all x3605 for violence: 2555 their faces 6440 shall sup vp 4041 [as] the East winde, 6921 and they shall gather 622 z8799 the captiuitie 7628 as the sand. 2344

 1:10 And they x1931 shal scoffe 7046 z8691 at the Kings, 4428 and the Princes 7336 z8802 [shall bee] a scorne 4890 vnto them: they x1931 shall deride 7832 z8799 euery x3605 strong holde, 4013 for they shall heape 6651 z8799 dust 6083 & take 3920 z8799 it.

 1:11 Then x227 shall [his] minde 7307 change, 2498 z8804 and he shall passe ouer, 5674 z8799 and offend, 816 z8804 [imputing] this 2098 his power 3581 vnto his God. 433

 1:12 ¶ [Art] thou x859 not x3808 from euerlasting, 6924 x4480 O LORD 3068 my God, 430 mine Holy one? 6918 we shall not x3808 die: 4191 z8799 O LORD, 3068 thou hast ordained 7760 z8804 them for iudgement, 4941 and O mightie God, 6697 thou hast established 3245 z8804 them for correction. 3198 z8687

 1:13 [Thou art] of purer 2889 eyes 5869 then to beholde 7200 z8800 x4480 euill, 7451 and canst 3201 z8799 not x3808 looke 5027 z8687 on x413 ininquitie: 5999 wherefore x4100 lookest 5027 z8686 thou vpon them that deale treacherously, 898 z8802 [and] holdest thy tongue 2790 z8686 when the wicked 7563 deuoureth 1104 z8763 the man that is more righteous 6662 then x4480 hee?

 1:14 And makest 6213 z8799 men 120 as the fishes 1709 of the Sea, 3220 as the creeping things, 7431 that [haue] no x3808 ruler 4910 z8802 ouer them.

 1:15 They take vp 5927 z8689 all x3605 of them with the angle: 2443 they catch 1641 z8799 them in their net, 2764 and gather 622 z8799 them in their dragge; 4365 therefore x5921 x3651 they reioyce 8055 z8799 and are glad. 1523 z8799

 1:16 Therefore x5921 x3651 they sacrifice 2076 z8762 vnto their net, 2764 and burne incense 6999 z8762 vnto their drag: 4365 because x3588 by them 1992 their portion 2506 [is] fat, 8082 and their meat 3978 plenteous. 1277

 1:17 Shall they therefore x5921 x3651 emptie 7324 z8686 their net, 2764 and not x3808 spare 2550 z8799 continually 8548 to slay 2026 z8800 the nations? 1471
