Ester 5

1 Esther, adventuring on the king's favour, obtaineth the grace of the golden sceptre, and inviteth the king and Haman to a banquet. 6 She, being encouraged by the king in her suit, inviteth them to another banquet the next day. 9 Haman, proud of his advancement, repineth at the contempt of Mordecai. 14 By the counsel of Zeresh he buildeth for him a pair of gallows.

 5:1 ¶ Now it came to passe x1961 on the third 7992 day, 3117 that Esther 635 put on 3847 z8799 her royall 4438 [apparell], and stood 5975 z8799 in the inner 6442 court 2691 of the kings 4428 house, 1004 ouer against 5227 the kings 4428 house: 1004 and the King 4428 sate 3427 z8802 vpon x5921 his royall 4438 throne 3678 in the royall 4438 house, 1004 ouer against 5227 the gate 6607 of the house. 1004

 5:2 And it was x1961 so, when the king 4428 saw 7200 z8800 x853 Esther 635 the Queene 4436 standing 5975 z8802 in the court, 2691 that shee obtained 5375 z8804 fauour 2580 in his sight: 5869 and the king 4428 helde out 3447 z8686 to Esther 635 x853 the golden 2091 scepter 8275 that x834 [was] in his hand: 3027 So Esther 635 drew neere, 7126 z8799 and touched 5060 z8799 the top 7218 of the scepter. 8275

 5:3 Then sayd 559 z8799 the King 4428 vnto her, What x4100 wilt thou, Queene 4436 Esther? 635 and what x4100 [is] thy request? 1246 it shall bee euen giuen 5414 z8735 thee to x5704 the halfe 2677 of the kingdome. 4438

 5:4 And Esther 635 answered, 559 z8799 If x518 it seeme good 2895 z8804 vnto x5921 the King, 4428 let the King 4428 and Haman 2001 come 935 z8799 this day 3117 vnto x413 the banquet 4960 that x834 I haue prepared 6213 z8804 for him.

 5:5 Then the King 4428 sayd, 559 z8799 Cause x853 Haman 2001 to make haste, 4116 z8761 that he may doe 6213 z8800 x853 as Esther 635 hath said: 1697 So the king 4428 and Haman 2001 came 935 z8799 to x413 the banquet 4960 that x834 Esther 635 had prepared. 6213 z8804

 5:6 ¶ And the king 4428 said 559 z8799 vnto Esther 635 at the banquet 4960 of wine, 3196 What x4100 [is] thy petition, 7596 and it shall be granted 5414 z8735 thee? and what x4100 is thy request? 1246 euen to x5704 the halfe 2677 of the kingdome 4438 it shall be performed. 6213 z8735

 5:7 Then answered 6030 z8799 Esther, 635 and said, 559 z8799 My petition, 7596 and my request 1246 [is],

 5:8 If x518 I haue found 4672 z8804 fauour 2580 in the sight 5869 of the king, 4428 and if x518 it please 2895 z8804 x5921 the king 4428 to grant 5414 z8800 x853 my petition, 7596 and to performe 6213 z8800 x853 my request, 1246 let the king, 4428 and Haman, 2001 come 935 z8799 to x413 the banquet 4960 that x834 I shall prepare 6213 z8799 for them, and I wil do 6213 z8799 to morow, 4279 as the king 4428 hath said. 1697

 5:9 ¶ Then went y3318 z0 Haman y2001 foorth 3318 z8799 x2001 that x1931 day, 3117 ioyfull, 8056 and with a glad 2896 heart: 3820 but when Haman 2001 saw 7200 z8800 x853 Mordecai 4782 in the kings 4428 gate, 8179 that hee stood not vp, 6965 z8804 x3808 nor x3808 mooued 2111 z8804 for x4480 him, x2001 hee 2001 was full 4390 z8735 of indignation 2534 against x5921 Mordecai. 4782

 5:10 Neuerthelesse Haman 2001 refrained y662 z8691 himselfe, x662 and when he came 935 z8799 x413 home, 1004 hee sent 7971 z8799 and called 935 z8686 for x853 his friends, 157 z8802 and Zeresh 2238 his wife. 802

 5:11 And Haman 2001 told 5608 z8762 them of x853 the glory 3519 of his riches, 6239 and the multitude 7230 of his children, 1121 and all x3605 the things wherein x834 the king 4428 had promoted 1431 z8765 him, and how x834 he had aduanced 5375 z8765 him aboue x5921 the Princes, 8269 and seruants 5650 of the king. 4428

 5:12 Haman 2001 said 559 z8799 moreouer, x637 Yea Esther 635 the Queene 4436 did let no x3808 man come in 935 z8689 with x5973 the king 4428 vnto x413 the banquet 4960 that x834 she had prepared, 6213 z8804 but x3588 x518 my selfe; and to morrow 4279 am I x589 inuited 7121 z8803 vnto her also x1571 with x5973 the king. 4428

 5:13 Yet all x3605 this x2088 auaileth 7737 z8802 me nothing, x369 so long x3605 x6256 as y6256 I x589 see 7200 z8802 x853 Mordecai 4782 the Iew 3064 sitting 3427 z8802 at the kings 4428 gate. 8179

 5:14 ¶ Then saide 559 z8799 Zeresh 2238 his wife, 802 and all x3605 his friends 157 z8802 vnto him, Let a gallous 6086 be made 6213 z8799 of fifty 2572 cubits 520 hie, 1364 and to morrow 1242 speake 559 z8798 thou vnto the king, 4428 that x853 Mordecai 4782 may be hanged 8518 z8799 thereon: x5921 then goe 935 z8798 thou in merily 8056 with x5973 the king 4428 vnto x413 the banquet. 4960 And the thing 1697 pleased 3190 6440 z8799 Haman, 2001 and hee caused y6213 z0 the gallous 6086 to be made. 6213 z8799
